Last February 27, the Grade 12 learners of Cesar C. Tan Memorial National High School from the STEM, HUMSS, and ABM strands proudly presented the culmination of months of hard work, sleepless nights, revisions, and relentless curiosity. What started as simple questions transformed into meaningful studies aimed at creating impact—not only for compliance, but for contribution.

The Research Conference served as a platform where young researchers showcased the fruits of their hard work. From innovative scientific explorations of STEM students, to socially relevant studies of HUMSS learners, and practical business-oriented research from ABM, the event reflected the diversity of ideas shaped by different perspectives yet united by one purpose—to contribute something meaningful.

More than a requirement, the event became a celebration of young minds who dared to ask, investigate, and share. It reminded everyone present that research is not only about completing a subject—it is about building understanding and contributing ideas that matter.

Congratulations to all Grade 12 learners for successfully presenting your research and enriching our school community with your findings!

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗡𝗖 𝗜𝗜 assessment for Grade 12 TVL Home Economics learners from Cesar C. Tan MNHS is currently underway at 𝗞𝗲𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘇 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰.

Out of 37 total students, 20 have already taken and successfully passed the assessment, while 17 more learners are scheduled to take it in the coming days. The activity is conducted in partnership with St. Anne College Lucena Inc. and is led by TVL-HE Focal Person, Ms. Butch Baliza and JDVP Trainer, Minette Angeline S. Delos Santos.

𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 | The learners of Cesar C. Tan Memorial NHS proudly represented the 4th Congressional District during the Division Festival of Talents in Dolores, Quezon, carrying with them not just skill, but heart, courage, and determination.

From 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗘. 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗼𝗻 of Grade 7, 𝗥𝗲𝘆𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗟. 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗿 of Grade 8, 𝗗𝗷𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗔. 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲 of Grade 9, to 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗩. 𝗕𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗮 of Grade 10, each learner stepped forward with confidence in Grade 7-10 Math Quiz Bee, guided by their dedicated coaches Sir Ellezer B. Formegones, Ma’am Mylene D. Galpa, Ma’am Cristine Dela Torre Real, and Engr. Keana Jeffrey D. Discarga, who believed in their potential every step of the way.

Adding depth and inspiration to the event was HeartLens Stories that Inspire, brought to life by 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘇, 𝗚𝘄𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘆 𝗗. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗼, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗖. 𝗝𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻, under the guidance of Coaches Ma’am Jessa E. Odoño and Ma’am Beverly Jane S. Maale. Their stories reminded everyone that talent is most powerful when paired with purpose. This journey was more than a competition it was a celebration of teamwork, mentorship, and the shared dream of letting young voices be seen and heard.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 | 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗮 proudly claimed the 1𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝗨𝗽 title in the Grade 10 Math Quiz Bee during the 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 on February 19, representing Cesar C. Tan MNHS with confidence and determination at Dolores Central School, standing strong in a highly competitive field where the championship was secured by Sariaya District and the 2nd Runner-Up went to Mauban District—a well-earned achievement that highlights his dedication and academic excellence.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Representing the 4th Congressional District of Quezon Province, our delegates are currently taking part in the 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 in Dolores, Quezon, happening today, February 19. The event brings together talented learners and dedicated coaches all over Quezon Province.

We are especially proud of the delegates from Cesar C. Tan Memorial National High School as they compete in their respective events, fueled by their previous success as champion in 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇 𝗕𝗲𝗲 and 1st runner-up in 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘀: 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, last 4th Congressional District Festival of Talents in Guinayangan, Quezon.

Your palms sweat, your heart races, and you feel butterflies in your stomach just by thinking of someone special. That dizzying heart-pounding connection is actually less of love's mystery and more of a chemical reaction inside your brain.

"Being love-struck also releases high levels of dopamine, a chemical that gets the reward system going. ’" — Dr. Helen Fisher, a research professor and member of the Center for Human Evolutionary Studies at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

When that one specific person is out of sight - your brain releases chemicals — specifically dopamine or the "craving hormone" that make you want to do everything just to see them again.

𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝑩𝒚 𝑾𝒂𝒏𝒕

When you first catch feelings, your brain releases chemical hormones that create that dizzying rush. Dopamine surges, making you feel motivated and rewarded whenever you're around that special someone.

"As you are engaging with things that brings you pleasure, neurotransmitters in your brain lead you to pursue that reward again and again" says Leiszle Rae Lapping - Carr, PhD, a psychologist at Northwestern Medicine

Romantic love is more like an addiction. It is always "not enough" and you want more and more of them — it even gets worse after a breakup.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏'𝒔 𝑩𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒖𝒑

Heartbreak run deep, and your brain is the main reason why it's hard to let go. A study by Helen Fisher and her team explains the reason of what's keeping a person from "moving on".

The part of your brain system that is associated with intense romantic love, thethe brain system for focus and desires gets more active when you can't get what you want - in this case a partner.

In some regions of your brain, the one responsible for calculating gains and losses calculates "What went wrong?" and obssesing about "what if's" and what you could have done contradistincly.

𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆; 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉?

Love is incredibly powerful, almost like an intoxicating substance that make you feel brighter. This mood-alternating experience is most likely the new strong, yet perfectly legal high.

According to Helen Fisher, “Romantic love is an addiction — a perfectly wonderful addiction when it’s going well, and a perfectly horrible addiction when it’s going poorly."

The same brain region for romantic love becomes active too when you feel the rush of co***ne. Even so, co***ne that lasts for a few hours is different from romantic "high" that can last for months and even years.

Falling in love is not all hearts; it is true that love is deeply embedded in the brain. Viewing love as a chemical process shows how our biology is wired for connections, to seek and maintain vital human bonds.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The work immersion of the Grade 12 TVL–Home Economics learners of Cesar C. Tan Memorial National High School was closely monitored by Dr. Minerva C. Luna, Assistant School Principal II and Dr. Antonio D. Revillame, PSDS, in Lucban, Quezon, Feb. 12.

The visit aimed to ensure that learners are guided properly, gaining meaningful hands-on experience, and developing the skills and professionalism needed in their chosen field. Their presence reflects the school’s strong commitment to quality education and effective implementation of the Work Immersion Program.
