• Juifen Old Street is a popular destination in Taiwan that is known for its resemblance to the Japanese animated movie, Spirited Away by Studio Ghibli.

• Its main attractions include narrow and winding alleyways filled with streetfood shops, restaurants, souvenir shops and tea houses.

• Ideal time to visit is at night, as the alleyways become magical when the lanterns light up after sunset.

• It is located in Juifen, a mountainous area in the Ruifang District in New Taipei City about 40kms away from the capital, Taipei.

🔑 Key Facts:

• Yehliu Geopark is a coastal geological park located on the north coast part of Taiwan within the New Taipei City.

• It is known for its unique rock formations created by sea erosion, weathering and tectonic activities, with the "Queen's Head" (no picture taken) being the most famous landmark here. Other unique formations include mushroom-shaped and behive-shaped rocks.

• Considered as one of the most incredible geological formations all over the world, this is the closest you can get to Mars on earth according to CNN.

• Visitors can walk along the trails within the park and enjoy its unique and dramatic landscapes.

• Make sure to check weather before heading here, as this is an open park. Wear comfortable shoes as well, as visiting here requires a lot of walking especially on uneven ground.

• Located in Northern Taiwan and is 39 mins away from the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport via private vehicle

• Used to be inhabited by the indigenous people mainly the Ketagalan people. During the Japanese rule, the entire area was part of the Taihoku Prefecture. After the Republic of China took control in 1945, it was designated as TAIWAN COUNTY on January 7, 1946

• It was promoted to special municipal status on December 25, 2010

• It consists of 10 districts including LUZHOU and SANCHONG districts

• Considered as Taipei's oldest district and is home to some historical buildings in the area. Treasured by many as representative of Taipei's richest historical cultures

• Many night markets are located here such as Huaxi Street Night Market, Xichang Street Night Market, Guangzhou Street Night Market, Wuzhou Street Night Market and Nanjichang Night Market

• Ximending Shopping District, a popular destination for its large shopping centers, is located here
