πŸ’§ DIY SELF-WATERING BOTTLE PLANTER

Perfect for busy plant parents, travelers, or anyone who forgets to water their plants.
This setup waters your plant automatically using capillary action!

---

πŸ§‚ WHAT YOU NEED

1 plastic bottle (any size)

Scissors or cutter

Cotton string, shoelace, or thick wick

Soil + small plant

Water

---

πŸ”§ HOW TO MAKE IT

1️⃣ Cut the bottle in half

Carefully cut your plastic bottle into two parts.
The top half will hold soil, and the bottom half will hold water.

---

2️⃣ Thread string through the cap

Make sure the cap stays on the bottle.
Thread a cotton string through the hole β€” this will act as the wick that pulls water upward.

Tip: If the cap hole is small, poke a bigger hole with a heated nail or screwdriver.

---

3️⃣ Add soil + plant

Turn the top half upside-down and fill it with soil.
Plant your seedling or cutting, making sure the wick is buried inside the soil.

---

4️⃣ Add water + nest together

Fill the bottom half of the bottle with water.
Place the top half inside it so the wick touches the water.

Your plant will now water itself as needed!

---

🌟 BENEFITS

βœ” Saves water
βœ” Prevents overwatering
βœ” Perfect for herbs, indoor plants, and seedlings
βœ” Recycles plastic bottles

---

πŸ’‘ PRO TIPS

Use filtered water for sensitive plants.

Refill the bottom container once the water level drops.

Add 1 drop of fertilizer to the water for nutrient boost.

Sustainable Gardening with Banana Tree Trunks

Harnessing the natural properties of banana tree trunks is an innovative and sustainable way to cultivate a thriving garden while conserving resources.

1. Natural Water Reservoir
Banana trunks are naturally rich in water and have excellent moisture-retaining qualities, making them ideal for gardening during dry seasons.

2. Living Growing Beds
Use the hollowed or cut trunks as natural planting beds for vegetables and herbs.
The organic matter inside slowly decomposes, enriching the soil with nutrients over time.

3. Built-In Irrigation
The trunk’s internal moisture gradually releases water to plant roots, helping maintain consistent hydration and significantly reducing the need for frequent watering.

4. Zero Waste, Eco-Friendly Practice
This technique transforms agricultural byproducts into valuable gardening tools, minimizing waste and promoting circular, sustainable farming methods.

5. Space Efficiency and Productivity
By reusing banana trunks, you make the most of limited space while boosting productivity β€” perfect for small gardens or permaculture systems.

🌱 A Smart Step Toward Green Gardening
Using banana trunks as natural planting beds combines efficiency, sustainability, and creativity.
It’s a simple yet powerful way to nurture both your garden and the planet.
