Of course, here also the winning answer of Mister MASTS 2025 - Carl Perez from Western Mindanao State University. His words spoke volumes and earned him the top spot!

Question: Mindanao's 'tri-people' heritage-the Lumad, the Moro, and the Christian settlers-has created some of our nation's most vibrant and powerful forms of art, from the epic Darangen to the sacred T'nalak weave. Yet, Mindanao is too often defined by conflict rather than this profound cultural richness. As a man and a leader, how would you use your voice to actively dismantle these negative stereotypes and champion Mindanao's arts as a primary tool for peace- building and national unity?

“Mindanao's tri-people heritage, the Lumad, the Moro, and the Christian, are just some of the few culture and tradition that completes the Mindanao harmonious community. I myself, as a man, and as a leader, how can I use my voice to contribute to peace-building and to preserve our national identity? Ladies and gentlemen, this is already the answer, the MASTS Games 2025. This is not just as a mere competition, but instead, this is a great platform for us to use our voices to proliferate the rights of our dear culture and traditions in Mindanao. Not just the Lumad, the Moro, and the Christians, but the totality of the culture that is present in Mindanao. Because I do believe that Misamis Occidental is just one of the few provinces that empowers the right of different cultures and traditions in Mindanao. One example would be our governor, Henry Oaminal. Despite of his political party and other colleagues, he himself proven that despite of the political party, it is very possible to work hand in hand to achieve unity and discipline despite of the political colors in the provinces.

Also, in the topic of culture and traditions, I, myself, will advocate for “Pluralism”. What is pluralism? Pluralism is a state of fact , the aspect that despite of the cultural differences, we may be able to live with harmony, we may be able to co-exist with a different culture. And with this, I will be humble and proud enough to use the platform of MASTS Games, starting in Misamis Occidental until I will reach the entire world. Because I do believe that the true beauty of culture and tradition does not depend on the eyes of other people. As Atty. Alvin Reyes earlier said, true beauty shines in you. I strongly believe also with the saying that ‘When the youth thrive in sports, learn to understand culture and the arts, the whole nation moves forward’.

Congratulations to Carl Perez! His winning answer shone with insight, creativity, and heart — a true reflection of excellence that earned him this well-deserved recognition.👏🌟

In case you'd miss it, this is the winning answer of Miss Jovannah Nathalie Abellar from the University of Southern Mindanao. Here’s her winning answer that made everyone say wow! 🌟

Question: In an age dominated by global media and fleeting digital trends, many of our traditional Philippine arts-from the kundiman to indigenous weaving-are competing for the attention of the youth. As a cultural ambassador, how would you creatively use your platform to make these timeless Filipino treasures not just preserved but truly relevant and exciting to the next generation?

"In our world, full of digitalization, we can embrace and preserve our culture by utilizing technology while staying grounded in our roots. I believe that we can do this by teaching ourselves to become culturally sustainable, preserving our customs, traditions and stories alive for the next generation. And I believe we can do this by education, united effort between the government and local artisans, and also collective commitment. Through education, here in the emerald heart of the Philippines in Mindanao, our culture beautifully intertwines with the indigenous Moro and Christian settlers and I believe that integrating native sports and arts in the education curriculum of our students as young as primary and secondary levels should dictate and foster respect, unity, and should allow them to become appreciative of Mindanao unique identity at such an early age.

Next is united effort between the government and local artisans. I believe the government not just provides cultural preservation laws, but they provide cultural celebrations, festivals, art workshops, just like what we uphold here in MASTS. We hold the skills of our students to become a value-driven individual in sports, culture, and arts. And with the help of local artisans, cultural storytellers, and leaders, we can teach them, for example, Sipa sa Manggis or Karaang Laro or kulintang music and traditional dances like Singkil so that our traditions and stories are passed on to the next generation.

Lastly is collective commitment. As a provincial youth volunteer and a student leader, I will evoke that spirit of bayanihan and also that spirit of unique identity in our tradition when it comes to our youth. I will tell them to wear our textile and clothing with pride, speak our native languages, harness the power of social media and technology when it comes to sharing our traditions. I believe by sharing this mission proudly in MASTS, traditions and technology, preservation and progress can come hand in hand and I believe that when we Mindanaons stay rooted in our roots, we just not preserve our culture, but make it alive and relevant in today's ever-changing world. I stand as a reminder that when we Mindanaons stay rooted in our Mindanaon heritage, we can carry not just one team, one goal, one university, but an entire nation forward."

Congratulations to Jovannah Abellar for crafting the winning answer that impressed our judges and inspired many. 💫 💬 Words that win. Well-deserved winner! 🥇Your winning answer truly stood out — insightful, inspiring, and unforgettable. 👏✨ Championing brilliance and heart!
