With the recent release of our 1st Term Report Cards under the strict new DepEd grading guidelines, there is a lot of tension, pressure, and anxiety circulating inside our community. I know that many parents are feeling deeply frustrated, worried, or disappointed if their children brought home grades that were lower than expected.
As a student leader, I want to make a respectful but urgent appeal to all mama, papa, and guardians in Sagay City: ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐ ๐

While it comes from a place of frustration or a desire to push your children to do better, publicly sharing their low marks on Facebook or TikTok can cause deep, invisible damage:
๐๐ญ ๐๐ก๐๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ก๐๐ข๐ซ ๐๐๐ฅ๐-๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐๐ฆ: School is already incredibly high-pressure. Seeing their personal struggles displayed online makes children feel deeply exposed, textually ashamed, and discouraged from even trying harder next term.
๐๐ญ ๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ข๐ง๐ : Once a report card is posted online, it leaves the safety of your home. Classmates, peers, or internet users can easily download, screenshot, or use those numbers to tease, mock, and bully your child both online and inside the school halls.
๐๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ค๐ฌ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ : Home should strictly remain a safe sanctuary. When children feel that their private mistakes will be publicized, they stop opening up to their parents about their academic fears, exam anxieties, or mental well-being.
With the launch of our , ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ช๐ข ๐๐๐ก๐ก ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ช๐จ ๐๐ช๐๐๐๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐ฝ๐ค๐ญ๐๐จ are trying hard to build a supportive, trauma-free environment where learners can safely find hope and express their academic anxieties. But we cannot do it aloneโwe need the partnership of our parents.
If your child's report card wasn't perfect this term, please sit down with them privately. Talk to their advisers, check their daily performance tasks, and guide them with patience instead of public pressure. Discipline and motivation start with private conversations at the kitchen table, not with public posts on social media feeds.
Let us protect our childrenโs dignity so they can find the courage to bounce back stronger next term. Thank you for always being our shield, parents!
