Ba Tonying Beach Resort
📍 Sitio Imaga, Allen, Northern Samar
I was looking for a quiet, family-friendly beach to spend the weekend, and when it comes to beaches, Northern Samar is always top of mind. You know they just have some of the most beautiful and underrated spots!
After a quick Facebook search, I stumbled upon Ba' Tonying Beach Resort. The drone shots from previous guests were stunning, so I immediately booked a room.
The resort only has six accommodations. The bigger Kubo (₱1,300/night) was already taken, so we settled for an Indian Hut (₱700/night).
Honestly, the hut was simple. Just a bed, a fan, and the basics, but it was all we needed.
We’re a family of five (2 adults + 3 kids), and surprisingly, we fit just right. If we didn’t, we brought a tent as backup. 😅
What we loved:
• The crystal-clear water — Even with the kids running and splashing around, the sand stays clear and the water never turns murky. It’s that perfect shade of blue that makes you want to jump in and stay there all day.
• The peaceful atmosphere — No crowded shores. No loud, bothering noise. During the night of our stay though, there was some noise because of the nearby guests, but honestly, we loved it. They have good singinh voice so it wasn’t a problem. 😅 Plus, it made my husband relaxed because the waves are a bit frightening at night. (It was raining, so it was understandable.)
We loved the calming sound of waves during the day, the gentle breeze, and plenty of space for the kids to build sandcastles and run freely.
• Friendly and welcoming owners — They treat guests like family. They chatted with us at the restaurant, shared stories about the place, and even gave tips on where to explore nearby.
• Scenic views — Waking up and seeing Mount Bulusan, the tip of Mayon (I didn’t even know it was Mayon volcano! 😱), and another volcano in the distance was such a treat. It’s not every day you get that kind of view right from your room.
• Convenient amenities — A clean common CR (with plenty of water that doesn’t have that deep-well smell), a grilling station for your packed meat, and a restaurant that serves surprisingly good meals when you don’t feel like cooking.
• Affordable rates and entrance — We only paid ₱40 for entrance for both adults, and the kids were free since they’re all under 6. It’s rare to find a place this nice without breaking the budget.
• Spacious parking and car camping — There’s plenty of space to park, and you can even do car camping. We initially planned to try it but realized we didn’t have enough camping essentials yet — maybe next time!
We spent most of our day on a picnic mat, kids laughing in the background, just soaking in the sound of the waves. It was simple but the kind of reset we didn’t know we needed.
Rates & Tips:
• Entrance: ₱20 per person (kids 6 and below are free)
• Kubo: ₱1,300 overnight (good for 4–5 pax)
• Indian Hut: ₱700 overnight (good for 2–3 pax)
• Tent pitching and car camping: Available; plenty of space for large groups
• Check-in: 1 PM | Check-out: 11 AM
• Bring cash, book early, and pack some extra snacks for the kids.
Would we go back? ABSOLUTELY. It’s perfect for families or anyone craving a quiet, simple beach escape. 🌊✨
