Gadgets can slowly
destroy a child’s creativity,
especially when they don’t know
how to use them wisely.
I always remind my kids:
gadgets are just tools,
Not something
they truly need at their age.
I admit, I can’t always be beside them
to guide them.
But whenever I see signs of addiction
especially with online games
I gently remind them.
And if they ignore our house rules,
I won’t hesitate to confiscate the gadgets… even if it makes them upset.
Because I love them.
I don’t want them to suffer later
because I chose to tolerate
what I should have corrected.
So yes, I let them experience boredom.
One time they said,
“Momaw, I feel bored 😑”
And I simply told them:
“That’s okay. Life can be boring sometimes. Learn to enjoy that space,
That’s where creativity grows.
Do something that makes you happy,
Something right.”
And this is the result:
Less cellphone,
more connection with each other.
They may not understand me now,
but one day, they will.
