๐๐ž๐ฐ๐ฌ | GPTA initiates feeding program for SENHS learners
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe General Parents-Teachers Association (GPTA) of San Enrique National High School (SENHS) initiated a feeding program for 40 severely wasted learners from Grades 7 to 12, as part of their goals for school year 2026-2027, held on July 17 at the SENHS Science Laboratory.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽDuring their first GPTA meeting held last July 3, presided by the President Mary Jean G. Tanteras and attended by GPTA officers, parent representatives, and teacher-members, the program will be conducted twice a month, that is every 15th sponsored by the GPTA officers and end of the month sponsored by the faculty and staff of SENHS.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽDifferent groups from the GPTA were assigned to sponsor from July 2026 to March 2027. Meals such as sopas, arroz caldo, molo, bihon, spaghetti with bread, and sotanghon are included in the monthly menu.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽSchool officials said the program aims to help improve the health and nutritional status of the selected learners through regular and nutritious meals since high school students are not beneficiaries of the School-based Feeding Program (SBFP) of the Department of Education.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAside from supporting healthy weight gain, the initiative also seeks to provide students with enough energy to actively participate in their classes.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe GPTA officers expressed their commitment to continue supporting the feeding program for the benefit of participating learners.

โ€Ž
โ€ŽOne of the world's fastest-growing sports, Pickleball, has rapidly gained popularity across the Philippines since 2022, drawing players of all ages through its fun, accessible, and competitive nature.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽOriginally invented in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, Washington, pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAccording to the Philippine Pickleball Federation (PPF), the sport was first introduced in the country in 2016 through a pickleball clinic in Cebu led by Filipino-American professional player, Sara Ash.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIn recent years, the sport has experienced remarkable growth as local tournaments, training clinics, and recreational matches continue to emerge across the country.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž Its simple rules and welcoming community have attracted both seasoned athletes and first-time players, making pickleball one of the fastest-rising sports in the Philippines.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAs interest continues to grow, the Philippine Pickleball Federation remains at the forefront of the sport's development by organizing national tournaments, conducting training clinics, expanding affiliated clubs nationwide, and encouraging schools and local sports communities to embrace the game.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž"The Philippine Pickleball Federation presently has more than 250 member clubs from all over the country and is still growing," said PPF President Armand Tantoco in 2025.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽWith its rapidly expanding community and increasing opportunities for competition, pickleball is steadily establishing itself as a lasting part of the Philippine sports landscape rather than a passing trend.

๐๐ž๐ฐ๐ฌ | PEACE begins with acceptance
โ€Ž
โ€ŽMonday, July 20,2026 today, San Enrique National High School (SENHS) held it's peace campaign during the flag ceremony. We have witnessed a spectacular performance by the Grade 7-STE Crimson and Gray. Their performance highlighted the importance of maintaining PEACE and the severity of bullying. Also, a student from Grade 7-STE Crimson sang a song empowering peace with an amazing voice.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž ; this is the hashtag for this week's PEACE rally. It was explained by the SUPREME SECONDARY STUDENT GOVERNMENT secretary Jimaila Gepana. It gave the students of SENHS a deeper understanding of the word "ACCEPT". And lastly it was wrapped up by the pasting of PEACE posters and slogans made by all the grade 7 on stage beside the PEACE tarp.

โ€ŽAround 4 pm today, Friday, July 17,2026, San Enrique National High School (SENHS) held it's first flag retreat for school year 2026-2027. It was leaded by the SENHS BSP(Boy Scouts of the Philippines). Marching with discipline and precision, the scouts took charge of lowering the Philippine flag. They also ensured that the iconic colors were handled with outmost reverence and folded into a perfect triangle.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThis afternoon rite is more than just a weekly routine -- it is a profound lesson in civic duty and respect for our national flag. By entrusting the retreat to the BSP, SENHS highlighted the importance of youth leadership, teamwork and the love for the country among the students of San Enrique National High School (SENHS) and among the younger generations.

The glow of a screen has become unavoidable. What was once a simple way of communicating has become a tool that influences the way people learn, work and spend their leisure time on a daily basis. Technology has many benefits but it has become a distraction because it is always there.

This concern is noticeable within the four walls of classrooms. Instead of paying attention to their teacher during lessons, many students find themselves scrolling through social media, playing mobile games, or checking notifications. These habits make it hard for students to focus and engage in their lessons.

The Department of Education took a step by implementing a policy that prohibits the use of cellphones and other portable electronic devices during instructional hours. Their initiative makes sure that learning remains the top priority in the classroom.

Limiting digital distractions helps learners to concentrate on discussions and to comprehend their lessons better. These small changes encourage self-discipline that students can use in and outside of school.

Because when the screen goes dark, the opportunity to learn can shine brighter. Technology will always have its place, but during instructional hours, students should be encouraged to focus on the lessons before them rather than the glowing screen on their hands.
