The SJDM WOODPUSHER SOCIETY - 3X3 CHESS TEAM TOURNAMENT concluded after seven rounds of intense competition, with Tira Tira Sampaloc Tres emerging victorious on tie-breaks in a closely contested field of 70 participating teams.
Held and organized by the SJDM Woodpusher Society lead by Sir Michael Linde , Ricky Echala and Isaac Atayde , the tournament showcased rapid-fire team chess, where three-player squads battled for crucial match points. The competition was fierce, with multiple teams vying for the top spot right up until the final moves of the last round.
The Champions: Tira Tira Sampaloc Tres
The team Tira Tira Sampaloc Tres sealed their championship title with an impressive run, accumulating 12 Matchpoints (TB1). They finished with 6 wins, 0 draws, and just 1 loss. Their strong performance, bolstered by a decisive 15.5 Game Points (TB3), proved just enough to edge out their closest rival in the standings.
The Battle for the Podium
The runner-up finish went to TEAM Senior/Golden, who matched the champions with 12 Matchpoints. Despite being the only undefeated team (5 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses), their total of 14.5 Game Points saw them land in second place after the tie-break calculation favored Tira Tira Sampaloc Tres.
