❗❗❗ "We demand justice, not excuses. Abolish the Juvenile Law. Impose the death penalty on criminal drug offenders. No more hiding behind age or addiction." ❗❗❗
I remember how these priests mocked and condemned President Duterte. They labeled him a murderer, a criminal for protecting our nation from the plague of narcotics. They tagged him with accusations of extrajudicial killings, while he was waging a war to safeguard innocent lives.
But now I ask, who is truly the criminal, Father? The one who fought back against cartels and addicts that ruined families, or the one who defended them in the name of compassion, while victims bled on our streets?
Today, we witness a terrifying reality: minors, yes, children high on drugs, taking lives with no remorse. Where is the mercy for their victims? Where is the justice for those families now grieving?
And to Senator Kiko Pangilinan who once belittled Duterte’s leadership, what have your laws delivered? The Juvenile Justice Law may have begun with noble intentions, but what has it become? A shield for the young who kill without consequence. While we, the rest of the nation, live in fear.
We turned our backs on the one leader who dared to fight for us. Who bore the hatred of the international community just to protect his people. And now, he stands alone — facing the judgment of the International Criminal Court - ICC while our streets are soaked in blood again. Not from war, but from crimes that could have been prevented.
My heart breaks not just for the innocent lives lost, but for a nation that betrayed the only leader who truly cared.
