Batangas theater education just took a big step forward! 🎭

Batangueño theater artist RK Mercado has become Batangas' first Designated Meisner Teacher (DMT) after completing the Designated Meisner Teacher Program of the Meisner Institute under the mentorship of Scott Trost, Executive Director of the Meisner Institute in Los Angeles, USA.

The Meisner Technique is one of the most respected approaches to actor training in the world. Developed by legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner, it emphasizes truthful behavior, deep listening, and authentic human connection. It has influenced generations of actors including Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise, and Sebastian Stan, among many others.

RK Mercado is a theater artist, director, and educator who serves as the Artistic Director of Dulaang Kentawra at De La Salle Lipa. He is also a resident director and actor of Lipa Actors Company, Teatro B, and Dularkada Playhouse.

With this achievement, RK aims to expand access to internationally recognized actor training through workshops, mentorship, and educational programs for actors, schools, and theater organizations across Batangas.

This is a proud moment for Batangas theater. 🌟

Mga ngiti, palakpakan, at pagtatanghal na puno ng puso at pagmamahal sa ating wika at kultura.

Noong Agosto 4, 2026, nagsama-sama ang 9 na paaralan sa San Pascual Municipal Gymnasium upang ipagdiwang ang Buwan ng Wika at ang ika-57 anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag ng Bayan ng San Pascual. Sa pamamagitan ng pagbigkas, sayaw, at awit, muling binigyang-buhay ng mga kabataan ang kasaysayan at pinagmulan ng ating bayan.

Isang gabi ng talento, pagkakaisa, at pagmamalaki sa kulturang Pilipino.

Noong Agosto 4, 2026, ginanap sa San Pascual Municipal Gymnasium ang BIGSAYWIT 2026, na nilahukan ng siyam na paaralan bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika at ika-57 anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag ng Bayan ng San Pascual.

Sa loob ng 17 minutong pagtatanghal, ipinamalas ng mga mag-aaral ang kanilang husay sa pagbigkas, pagsayaw, at pag-awit, habang isinasalaysay ang kasaysayan at pinagmulan ng bayan ng San Pascual.

Did you know that one of the most iconic bamboo structures in the Philippines stands right here in Batangas? 🎋

Architect Christian Salandanan has spent his career proving that bamboo is far more than just a "poor man's timber." As the co-founder of Sangay Architects and a UST Cum Laude graduate who ranked 5th in the June 2015 Architect Licensure Examination, he has built some of Luzon's most iconic bamboo structures to date.

His most notable works include the MLR Polo Pavilion in Calatagan, Batangas built for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and designed to host international royalty and VIPs and the Kaway'an EcoPark in General Trias, Cavite which stands as the largest bamboo structure in Luzon.

On August 7, 2026, Architect Salandanan will share his expertise at the Mindanao Bamboost Forum at The Farm in South Cotabato. He will present "Bamboo Architecture" and explore how bamboo can be used to build high-end and large-scale structures that are not only beautiful but also resilient.

His advocacy is powerful. Bamboo is not just an alternative material. It is an equal one.
