Genre: Youth Drama / Coming-of-Age Drama with Social Realism

Synopsis:
A short play that addresses the issues of bullying, peer influence, and personal transformation in the lives of high school students. The story revolves around Ava and Mark, childhood friends whose relationship gradually changes when they enter high school. Mark becomes a victim of bullying because of his appearance and social status. Meanwhile, Ava is influenced by Lauren and Adam, a well-known bully in their school, which causes her to distance herself from Mark and eventually take part in bullying him. In her desire to be accepted by others and to maintain her image, Ava chooses conformity over loyalty to her friend, inflicting deep emotional pain on Mark.

As the bullying continues, Ava slowly becomes aware of her wrongdoing and feels remorse. She is torn between choosing her new group of friends and doing what is right. Despite her apology, Mark initially rejects it, reflecting the deep wounds caused by the bullying. Eventually, Ava proves her sincerity through genuine change. Mark notices this and ultimately forgives her. Lauren and Adam also come to their senses and ask for forgiveness. The story ends with reconciliation, emphasizing the importance of understanding, accountability, and the courage to change. The play shows that true friendship is not measured by social status or outward appearance, and that real change begins with choosing kindness over cruelty.

The story begins with the introduction of the five siblings and their mother Consuela who lives alone, missing her family. An invitation from their mother brings the siblings and their families back together in Consuela’s house, where they share moments of warmth, laughter, and hidden tensions. As time goes by, Consuela reveals that she is seriously ill. As her condition worsens, the siblings begin to compete for her attention because of the inheritance. After Consuela peacefully passes away, a shocking discovery about a hidden family member, a brother they never knew existed causes confusion, conflict, and arguments among the siblings. In the end, the siblings learn the truth behind the secret and realize their mistakes. They apologize to one another, accept what happened, and finally reunite as a complete family, honoring their mother’s wish for unity by visiting her resting place together as one.

The “Mirror” culminates in a confrontation where Stella must not only face her stalker, but also the distorted reflection of herself—her reflection—that she desperately tried to hide from the world. ‘Mirror’, is a psychological-thriller story that explores the duality of Stella's identity, how someone's desire to be something in a world where society is being run by a one-sided belief could drive a person to many lengths unimaginable, and the ultimate confrontation of one's self—not only with the truth—but their selves personally. This story aims to capture the reality of our world, in a dark, surreal and originally made film, that'll tackle not one but many issues ‘We’, people might've encountered in our modern lives.
