I just want to share this because my heart is overflowing with appreciation for these students.
*I have their consent to post this today.*
I’m truly amazed by the Lord because I don’t fully understand why my students have such a big impact on me. I’m not a perfect teacher, but I always feel their love and respect for me.
There are many times I doubt myself as a teacher, but whenever I hear them say:
“We love you, Miss Elay!”
“You’re our favorite, Miss Elay.”
“We hope you’ll still be our teacher for all our SHS years, Miss Elay.”
“You’re such a great teacher, Miss Elay.”
—my heart feels full.
Yes, being a teacher is exhausting, but every time I step into their classroom, I’m reminded:
“This is where God placed me, because this is where I also find real joy.”
I’m happy because they are happy in my class.
I’m happy because they enjoy our discussions.
Jesus you are truly amazing. I used to wonder why I even took up Education, because when I was a student, I had no confidence and I was very shy. But now, I’m always inspired to go to class because I see how happy my students are.
To my students—both current and former—thank you so much.
You are a big part of why I was able to overcome my fears and trauma in teaching.
Jesus loves you all and so do I
Love,
Miss Elay
