Lately, sabi ko sa asawa ko, "I feel lost sa ministry."
After months of bed rest and giving birth, I missed traveling. I missed preaching in different places. I missed the ministry I was used to.
Then habang nag-uusap kami, we both came to this simple realization:
We do what we can right now.
This season, I have two little kids who need me.
So, I can't say yes to every invitation, and that's okay.
So instead of traveling, we open our home.
We cook for people.
We go on coffee dates.
We listen more than we speak.
We spend hours with people talking about life and Jesus.
Some of our disciples even stay overnight because that's what this season allows.
And maybe... that's exactly where God is calling us.
Habang nag-uusap kami, I felt like God was reminding me of something He's been teaching me since college.
Discipleship was never meant to be confined to a church service, a Bible study, or a stage.
It's life on life.
It's opening your home.
It's sharing a meal.
It's listening before speaking.
It's walking with people long enough that they don't just hear about Jesus…they see Him being formed in your everyday life.
Jesus didn't just gather crowds. He walked closely with a few. He shared meals with them, traveled with them, asked questions, corrected them, encouraged them, and simply did life with them.
I'm realizing that this season didn't take me away from ministry.
It simply changed what ministry looks like.
I'm learning that faithfulness doesn't always look like doing more.
Sometimes it looks like embracing the assignment God has placed right in front of you.
So if you're in a season that looks different from before, don't think you've lost your purpose.
Maybe God hasn't changed your calling.
Maybe He's just changing the way you live it.
For us, right now, discipleship looks like an open home, a warm meal, honest conversations, and hearts that always have room for one more.
And I think that's a beautiful kind of ministry. 🤍
