The School of Computer Engineering (SCpE) of Sulu State University brought students, faculty, and staff together for a day of orientation, connection, and celebration during its General Assembly and Welcome Fiesta on September 2, 2026, at the Sulu State University Gymnasium.
The morning program centered on the SCpE General Assembly, providing students with essential information on school policies, guidance services, and the expectations within the School.
The program opened with the invocation, followed by the national anthem and university hymn. The opening was led by Engr. Adzmer S. Muhali, MSCpE, dean of SCpE, followed by the introduction of the SCpE faculty.
College policies were then discussed by Engr. Adzmer L. Anji, MIT, giving students a clearer understanding of the rules, guidelines, and expectations they are expected to observe within the School.
The assembly also featured a guidance and counseling session facilitated by Ms. Fe Espineli, RGC, followed by an open question-and-answer portion where students were given the opportunity to raise concerns and seek clarification.
The morning session concluded with closing remarks from Engr. Benhamer S. Majan, PCpE, MIT.
The General Assembly served as an avenue for communication and orientation, particularly in helping students become familiar with SCpE policies, programs, and the academic community. The activity was also intended to strengthen communication and cooperation among students, faculty members, administrators, and student leaders.
Come afternoon, the formal orientation shifted into a celebration as the SCpE Welcome Fiesta began at 1:30 p.m., carrying the theme โConnect.exe: CpE Welcome Fiesta.โ
The afternoon program opened with an individual ramp walk featuring SCpE students, faculty, and staff, giving members of the School an opportunity to showcase their personalities and SB19-inspired outfits.
The activity set the tone for an afternoon centered on interaction and camaraderie, as students across year levels gathered for a series of parlor games designed to encourage participation, teamwork, and friendly competition.
A major highlight of the celebration was the Mr. and Ms. SCpE 2026 competition, which showcased the participantsโ confidence, creativity, and stage presence. The segment also formed part of the Welcome Fiestaโs effort to encourage students to participate and build connections beyond the classroom.

The celebration concluded with closing remarks from Engr. Adzmer L. Anji, bringing the dayโs activities to a close.
The Welcome Fiesta was organized to formally welcome first-year students while strengthening camaraderie among students from first to fourth year. Through games, performances, and shared activities, the celebration provided SCpE students with an opportunity to connect outside their usual classroom environment.
From policy discussions in the morning to games and celebration in the afternoon, the SCpEโs activities highlighted not only the technical side of Computer Engineering but also the importance of community, connection, and camaraderie within the School.
