We started the day with the pamuhat for the renovation of our Municipal Park, one of our biggest projects this year. Dugay na nato ni nga pangandoy, and finally, nasugdan na gyud nato ang pagbag-o sa atong park into a better and more beautiful space for everyone.

Another very special moment was the start of the turnover of free house and lot units at the Zubiri-Villo Paglaum Village. Dako kaayo among kalipay nga makita nga ang atong mga benepisyaryo finally have a place they can truly call home.

Daghang salamat, Governor Oneil Roque, for your continued support and for helping us make this dream possible for our fellow Sumilaonons.

From there, we proceeded to Kilabong for the turnover of agricultural machinery to our rice farmersโ€”another important step in supporting their livelihood and improving agricultural productivity.

And to end the day, balik na pud ta sa Municipal Hall for our budget deliberations, making sure that every peso is planned carefully and used for programs and projects that truly benefit our people.

Before becoming Mayor, I served as our Local Youth Development Officer. Maybe because of that, many young people became comfortable sharing their experiences with me.

I studied in a private school, so I admit that I was once unaware of many of these realities.

I did not know what โ€œtarp papelโ€ was until they explained that they used it because it cost less. They would laugh while telling me how one can of Fresca had to be shared by three or four students just so everyone could eat. Some had very little time to study or complete their requirements because they were working part-time to support themselves and their families.

They would often tell these stories as jokes. But behind their laughter were sacrifices they had learned to carry quietly.

That is why I try to make time to attend graduations.

My presence there is not political. I do not attend because I want to be seen. I attend because, after hearing their stories, I understand that reaching that stage was never easy.

I see myself as one more person in the crowd who will stand, smile, and applaud for them.

Graduation is not only a celebration of intelligence. For many of them, it is proof of courage, sacrifice, friendship, and survival.

So whenever my schedule allows, I will be thereโ€”not only as Mayor, but ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐š๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ ๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ข๐ซ ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐›๐ž ๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐›๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐.

This afternoon, I just called our police and asked for an update regarding sa body nga nakita sa Kulaman. Based sa initial and unofficial reports, possible nga drowning ang cause of death. Wala usab nakita nga signs of stabbing or gunshot wounds. However, these findings are still unofficial, so maghulat ta sa formal investigation and medical examination.

Bisan pa nga kulaman river in Purok 1, Kisolon nakita ang lawas, naa kini sa pikas side sa river, which is under the area of responsibility of Manolo Fortich. Mao nga ang Manolo Fortich Police ang currently nag-handle sa investigation.

As of this time, wala pa na-identify ang tao. Our police have also been coordinating with the barangays, pero hangtod karon, wala paโ€™y reported missing person gikan sa Sumilao.
