For 128 years, the Philippine flag has stood as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and the unwavering spirit of a people who dared to dream of freedom.
Today, as we celebrate our nation's independence, we look back on the bravery of the heroes who fought not for themselves, but for generations they would never meet. Their sacrifices remind us that freedom was never freely given—it was earned through resilience, unity, and love for country.
But beyond the celebrations and the waving of our flag, we are challenged to ask ourselves: What does it mean to be truly free? How do we honor the sacrifices of our heroes in the world we live in today? And what kind of Philippines are we helping build for future generations?
"Ang kalayaan ay hindi lamang alaala ng nakaraan, kundi pananagutan ng kasalukuyan at pag-asa ng kinabukasan."
As students, leaders, and citizens, may we continue to uphold the values of patriotism, integrity, and service. Let us use our voices to inspire change, our actions to strengthen our communities, and our hearts to keep the spirit of freedom alive.
Today, we remember. Today, we celebrate. Today, we continue the legacy.
