If laughter is a language, then big sister is the only one who is truly fluent. She has total VIP access to the baby’s joy, pulling out those rhythmic belly laughs that the rest of us can’t seem to replicate no matter how hard we try. But the influence doesn't stop at the giggles. It’s in the way the baby tracks her across the floor, mimicking her movements and following her lead like a dedicated little minion. One is the mastermind, the other is the eager apprentice, and together, they’ve officially taken over the house.

For the first time in years, I went grocery shopping alone. I kept checking my bag, worried I’d forgotten something because it felt unnervingly light. I realized I’m just used to the heavy, beautiful chaos—pushing a stroller, balancing bags, and having my husband right there to share the load. Now that he’s away, even though he isn't technically an OFW, I finally understand that 'phantom weight' their spouses carry. The bag is light, but the silence in the aisles feels heavy.

They call it the "8-Second Hug." It sounds scientific, but for us parents, it’s pure magic. When the tantrums are loud, when the house is a mess, and when your patience is running thin—stop the lectures. Stop the "ayaw lagi na."

Just stop talking and pull them close.

Hold that hug for at least 8 seconds. That’s the time it takes for the body to release oxytocin—the "love hormone"—for both of you. Don't be the first to let go. Wait until they exhale, relax their shoulders, and feel safe again.

Sa tinuod lang, dili lang ang bata ang nanginahanglan ani. Kitang mga ginikanan, kinahanglan pud nato ni para ma-kalma atong dughan. It’s a heart-to-heart reset that reminds us why we do what we do.

Sulayi ni ninyo karong adlawa, labi na kung medyo "bug-at" ang pamati. You’ll be surprised how a silent hug can fix what words cannot. ❤️

Whether it’s a new "mural" on the living room wall or the remote mysteriously vanishing into another dimension—we don't need a witness. We already have the culprit. 🎨📺
