I’m in my 40s, a white belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu… and after 3 competitions in under 2 years, I’ve learned a LOT. 🥋💪

Some of these lessons I learned the hard way, some I wish I knew earlier — like training smart, protecting my body, warming up properly, having an accountability partner, and even taking the right supplements.

BJJ Diary 76/365: I won Silver today at the Origins Intras at 🥈And I’m so happy with my performance. 🥰 Won 2/3 matches and I got to see what my strengths are and see the things that I still need to work on. 😃 I really trained consistently this year and worked hard on conditioning, too. Thanks, Coaches and for believing in me and for guiding and coaching me today. Thanks Coach for helping me warm up. Thanks Coach for helping me become stronger. Thanks to everyone who helped me train at BGC and the Grove branches, to my friends at and :) Love you all! 🫶

BJJ Diary 74/365: Great session at with Coach 👍 Realized that I had been doing X guard wrong this whole time. Never kasi akong dumaan sa lesson na X guard. 😅’nu ba yan? Haha! It’s never too late to fix things 🫶😃 Thanks to all of the people I tolled with today. 🙏🏻
