The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is an event that is highly anticipated by hot air balloon and aircraft enthusiasts, as it is the only airshow held in the Philippines. The airshow, dubbed “A weekend of everything that flies,” features flying exhibitions showcasing several different kinds of hot air balloons. Participants were also treated to shows with helicopters, skydivers, paragliders, drones, radio-controlled aircraft, and kites.

The festival also features on-ground activities and attractions like aviation career seminars, food booths, a fly market, and concerts, making sure there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The venue for the Philippine Hot Air Balloon Festival 2026 is New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac. This new venue is a sports hub that is home to an aquatics center, various open grounds, and an athletics stadium that can seat up to 20,000 people.

CONGRATULATIONS, Yacamma! 🙏💛 From the breathtaking mountains of Barlig, Mountain Province to the art halls of the world, Jefferson Cawaon Cablog just made history as the only Filipino/Igorot recognized in the book “40 Contemporary Great Masters of Portrait Painting 2019,” published in France! 🇵🇭🌍

Known for painting the heart and soul of our ancestors, Cablog’s works capture the “Ofok”—the oral traditions and stories passed down by Barlig elders. His art is not just painting, it’s a living preservation of culture, tradition, and Igorot pride. 💫

From a young dreamer in Barlig, to studying Fine Arts in UP Baguio, to showcasing his masterpieces nationwide—Jefferson proves that with passion and dedication, the voice of our heritage can echo across the world. 🌏

🖌️ “Long live the blood of my ancestors, long live Barlig,” Cablog proudly shares. Truly, his victory is not just for him, but for every Filipino who carries culture in their heart. 💛👑

LOOK: BENGUET FARMER’S AWARD-WINNING BEANS SELLS FOR 9,000 PESOS A KILO

From a small farm in La Trinidad, Benguet, 22-year-old Rodiyo Tubal Tacdoy has made history in Philippine coffee. His green Arabica beans sold for a record-breaking ₱9,000 per kilo at the Philippine Quality Coffee Competition (PCQC) 2025, where he bagged first place in the Arabica – Smallholder Farms category.

Tacdoy’s journey into coffee wasn’t planned—his family originally grew sayote and leafy greens, only venturing into coffee in 2015 when his grandfather partnered with a Japanese student researching coffee farming. After years of trial and error, a local win in 2019 sparked their passion, leading to more awards and eventually Tacdoy taking the lead in 2023.

Using a mix of traditional planting methods and modern processing techniques like the natural anaerobic process, Tacdoy’s 1.5-hectare farm produces beans shaped by the high-altitude climate of Benguet. His PCQC win allowed him to auction 117 kilos of coffee—fetching the highest price ever paid for local beans.

“Our future plans are to help fellow farmers elevate Cordillera coffee,” Tacdoy said. “Less people want to become coffee farmers. We plan to open a school farm.”

He believes that competitions and fair pricing can draw more young people into farming, especially with government support through post-harvest equipment, technical know-how, and livelihood programs.
With global coffee demand rising and supply threatened by shortages, Tacdoy hopes to compete internationally—and prove that Philippine coffee can stand among the best in the world.

This is the kind of that Filipinos need to see everyday in the news. Not some dumb political stunts and hype that we see in the headlines every day.

A brilliant Filipino student, Carvey Ehren Maigue, has created a solar panel system made from food waste like rotting fruits and vegetables. His invention, called AuREUS, can generate electricity using UV light—even when there’s no direct sunlight!

Unlike traditional solar panels, this system captures UV rays from clouds, glass, and even walls, making it perfect for urban environments, windows, and even indoor spaces. It’s sustainable, affordable, and converts agricultural waste into renewable energy.

This innovation earned him the James Dyson Sustainability Award and could reshape solar tech forever!

Pero isang saglit, kaya nilang wasakin.
Maging matalino, ‘wag magpabiktima—
Di lahat ng nakangiti, totoo.”
