READ: A road in Plaridel, Bulacan has been left looking like the surface of the moon after severe flooding caused extensive damage, leaving deep holes across the roadway that could pose a serious hazard to motorists.

A photo taken by Mark Lim Enriquez shows the extent of the damage, with sections of the road resembling massive lunar craters.

The photo quickly drew sarcastic reactions online, with one commenter joking that driving through the area feels like taking a tour of the moon.

Others joked that the damaged road could now serve as an “off-road” adventure destination, while another sarcastically remarked that the country has reached the moon before its rockets have even taken off.

Some commenters also called for the Department of Public Works and Highways to provide funding for repairs, while others raised questions about the quality of the road construction.

One commenter even alleged that the project involved more sand than asphalt, concrete or cement, although there is no independent evidence provided to substantiate the claim.

For motorists, however, the jokes come with a serious warning: the deep holes left by the flooding could damage vehicles and potentially cause accidents.

Would you still drive through this road? 🌕🚗
