Congratulations to Sean Ramos on an outstanding performance at the ADT BingoPlus Philippine Open, finishing tied for 5th against a highly competitive field. 👏⛳

Playing in front of a home crowd always brings a different kind of pressure and inspiration, and Sean rose to the occasion with a performance that showcased his talent, determination, and composure.

His strong finish has also earned him a coveted spot in the International Series Philippines this November, another significant milestone in what continues to be a promising professional career.

From Shinnecock to Summit Point: The Story Behind Hole No. 5

The 14th hole at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, named “Thom’s Elbow” after longtime head professional Charlie Thom, is the course’s longest par 4 at 520 yards. It served as Robert Trent Jones Jr.’s inspiration for Hole 5 at Summit Point Golf & Country Club, which measures approximately 540 yards (580 yards from the tips).

Averaging 4.5 strokes, it is the toughest hole in the championship. The elevated tee shot plays to a fairway that slopes from right to left, with a bunker guarding the right side at about 290 yards. Although it is one of the wider fairways on the course, the firm conditions make it play much narrower which is very similar to Summit Point.

The hole becomes even more treacherous if the tee shot finds the rough. The approach is blind, with the green protected by bunkers. Sounds familiar, Summit Point players? 🤔

At Shinnecock, a par on 14 feels like a stroke gained on the field and is crucial heading into the final four holes. Likewise, a par on Summit Point’s Hole 5 provides confidence before the demanding par-3 6th and handicap-1 7th. ⛳️

Current standings after 3 rounds of Let’s Golf Siz! ⛳🔥

A total of 68 players have already joined the competition, with more golfers expected to enter the race.

Round 4 tees off tomorrow at Manila Southwoods, while Rounds 5 and 6 are scheduled for August and October, respectively.

At the end of the series, the field will be divided into four divisions, and the player who reaches the qualifying mark in each division will earn the title of the next Puma Siz. 🐾🏆

The battle is heating up, and there’s still plenty of golf left to play. Who will rise to the top? 😉
