Preparation: We had to keep him awake until 12 midnight, let him sleep for 1 hour, then wake him up again until 8 a.m.

The first attempt was a failure because he didn’t fall asleep in the hospital, so no test was done. But as soon as we got home, he fell asleep.

This was our second attempt, and it took him 2 hours (from 8–10 a.m.) before he finally slept. Huge thanks to the VRP rad tech who was very patient and understanding throughout the process.

Orie had an absence seizure last January 10. It was new and terrifying. He lost consciousness for less than a minute while standing—eyes open but unresponsive, with a blank stare, and his lips turned blue.

We still don’t know the trigger, and the results will be out next week. As they said, this is common among kids on the spectrum. This post is simply to raise awareness for fellow Ausome parents—especially if you happen to come across Orie’s page and are new to this journey.

Orie is doing well; we praise God that it hasn’t happened again since then. I also give thanks and praise to Jesus for giving me peace despite the fear. I know He loves Orie, so we surrender everything to Him. 🙌
