BLOOD DONATION GUIDELINES

To ensure the safety of both donors and recipients, please observe the following requirements:

βœ… Age Requirement
β€’ 18 to 60 years old
β€’ First-time donors: 18 to 50 years old only

βœ… Weight Requirement
β€’ Must weigh at least 51 kilograms

βœ… Health Condition
β€’ Must be healthy and free from any illness on the day of donation

βœ… Travel History
β€’ No travel outside the Philippines within the past 1 year

βœ… Tattoo and Ear Piercing
β€’ Eligible to donate 1 year after the procedure

βœ… Donation Interval
β€’ Male donors: At least 3 months since the last blood donation
β€’ Female donors: At least 6 months since the last blood donation

βœ… Before Donation
β€’ Sleep for at least 6–8 hours before donating blood
β€’ Eat breakfast or a light meal at least 3 hours before donation
β€’ Avoid oily and fatty foods one day before donation
β€’ Drink plenty of water
β€’ Avoid hard liquor or alcoholic drinks before donation

🚫 Temporary Deferral
β€’ Individuals currently taking antibiotics are not allowed to donate
β€’ Individuals who recently received vaccinations may be temporarily deferred depending on the type and date of vaccination

βœ… Screening Process
β€’ All prospective donors must undergo the required screening procedures, health assessment, and interview on-site before blood donation.

πŸ“ Blood Storage Facility
The collected blood units will be processed and stored at the Davao del Norte Blood Center located within the Capitol Compound, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
