Late Upload | 8th Regular Session – 21st Sangguniang Panlalawigan

Just sharing this a bit late, but still worth posting.
Last August 28, 2025, I had the opportunity to attend the 8th Regular Session of the 21st Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Surigao del Sur, held at the Legislative Building Session Hall, Capitol of the South, in Bislig City.

As the representative of the President of the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas – Surigao del Sur Chapter, I was there to participate, observe, and show support as the SP tackled matters that directly impact our barangays and communities.
Presided by Vice Governor Hon. Manuel O. Alameda, Sr., the session was joined by 10 active members of the council. Here’s a quick rundown of what happened:

• 15 items were referred for First Reading
• 2 items were taken for information
• 21 items went through Second Reading
• 21 more were up for Third Reading

The session adjourned by 9:53 A.M., followed by individual committee meetings to discuss ongoing referrals.
It was encouraging to see our local leaders in action — showing commitment, consistency, and collaboration for the good of the province. Proud to represent the Liga and continue championing the voice of our barangays.

Surigao del Sur, Tandag City seal sisterhood agreement with San Juan City.🤝

On August 15, 2025, the provincial government of Surigao del Sur and the city government of Tandag formally entered into sisterhood agreements with the local government unit of San Juan City of Metro Manila—I was truly honored to be part of the historic signing of the Sisterhood Agreement between City Government of Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, and San Juan City, Philippines, Metro Manila, held at the Provincial Capitol Legislative Building.

As Liga ng mga Barangay President – Surigao del Sur Chapter, it was a privilege to witness this milestone led by Governor Representative Johnny T Pimentel, Roxanne Pimentel, and Mayor Francis Zamora, together with Vice Governor Manuel O. Alameda, Vice Mayor Eleanor D. Momo, my fellow SP Members,The City Councilors of San Juan City James Yap , Francis Keith R. Peralta, John Ervic M. Vijandre, and former Councilor Paul Anthony D. Artadi and our dedicated city and provincial officials.💙😇

The agreements seek to strengthen bilateral relations, promote cultural exchange, and share innovations and best practices in local governance. Prior to the ceremony, the Tandag City Council passed Resolution No. 112, Series of 2025, formally establishing the sister city relationship between Tandag and San Juan.🥰

Officials from the participating LGUs expressed optimism that the partnership will foster sustained cooperation, exchange of expertise, and community development initiatives that will benefit their constituents.💙🤝

21ST Sangguniang Panlalawigan | 6th Regular Session
Surigaonons!

The 6th Regular Session of the 21st Sangguniang Panlalawigan was successfully conducted at the Legislative Building Session Hall, Capitol of the South, Kahayag, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur. The session was presided over by Hon. Manuel O. Alameda, Sr., Provincial Vice Governor.
Highlights of the session include:
• Thirteen referrals submitted for First Reading and assigned to appropriate committees;
• Two items received for information;
• Fourteen referrals presented for Second Reading; and
• Fourteen referrals presented for Third Reading.
The session was formally adjourned, followed by committee meetings to tackle pending matters from the previous session.
The next Regular Session will be held at the SP Session Hall, Legislative Building, Capitol Hills, Telaje, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
