Title: THE BOSS

"I regret I didn't take a chance to know him more"

These were the words often uttered by his mouth when he was alone.

One day, he called one of his employees for a short meeting in his office.

Boss: You lost weight! 🙂

Cashier: Yes Sir. I'm on a diet Sir. You know, health is really my priority.😁

Boss: Good, you still manage to take care of yourself amidst exhaustive works. But, I just want you to know that I really praise you for being consistent and so good in your work. And based on your performance, I decided to promote you to be my teller supervisor in this company. 🙂

Cashier: Thank you Sir. I really appreciate it so much but I don't think I can ever do that.😔 I'm not yet ready for that position Sir. Besides, I am planning to resign because I need to fulfill what is really in my heart. 😔

Boss: I'm so disappointed with your response. Your co-employees are aiming for this position and you refuse it abruptly. Such a disgrace!!!😠

The cashier got hurt and stunned. But he said this then...

Cashier: I'm sorry for what I've said Sir. Okay, I will take it and try my best. 🥲

The cashier got promoted as a teller supervior. And the money was able to manage so well. However, as time passed by, the boss got confused why all of their takings went down for the first time. He immediately called the teller supervisor for what happened.

Assistant teller: Sir, he was on-leave for 4 executive days without telling us what's the reason behind. ☺️

And in extreme insanity and anger the boss immediately picked up his phone to call him out. The phone rang!! Someone picked up but he knew it was another person's voice.

Boss: Hello, can I speak to Mr. Jay?😓

But the weep in pain was the first response to his question.

Sister: Sir, he is gone!! He hanged himself! 😭😭😭

The boss couldn't speak. He was in shock and wasn't able to process the news he heard. He ended the call and put his phone on the table. His heart was pumping so fast that it made him scratch his head in fear..😧

Afterwards, when the boss went to the funeral. The mother had a conversation with him. And he was told everything that came to pass.

Mother: He's too sweet, too gentle. He kept on saying that he adored you so much for being so successful in life.☺️ In fact, he told me that he wanted to be better than you, and wanted to build his restaurant in Canada as what he promised. He loved cooking so much.☺️ I just smiled and nodded at him that he could do it soon. 😄But, everything changed. He didn't get enough sleep, he often skipped his meals. He lost interest in everything He was so sad and I could no longer see his laughters. Until, he decided to end his life.😭

They hugged each other and both cried in grief!!😭😭😭

But the last words he said to the mother were...

BOSS: "I'm sorry, I regret I didn't take a chance to know our SON more!"

MORAL LESSONS: Depression is not a joke. When you can't understand people's behavior either your children or friends or co-workers. Please give time to know them more instead of giving immediate criticism or judgement of their actions.
