๐๐๐๐ | 'Hindi naman po Mr. and Ms. TSU Faculty โto,โ SSC says, denying faculty entry to FW event
Reports regarding the denial of entry to faculty members by the Supreme Student Council (SSC) were received during the Mr. and Ms. TSU 2025 Coronation Night, currently being held at the TSU Gymnasium, October 17.
โHindi pinapasok, hinahanapan ng ticket [and] at the same time, mataas pa ang boses nung nakikipag-usap,โ a faculty member from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) described the situation.
According to the faculty member, the SSC officer that they were in communication with onsite had claimed that they implemented a new directive requiring both students and faculty members to present tickets before entering the event venue โ a policy that, according to some faculty members, had not been enforced in previous years. Moreover, this new instruction had been communicated vaguely with the College Student Council, as they were still under the impression that the ticketing system only applied to students.
โThen bigla may mga faculty sila mula sa ibang college na pinapasok na hindi hinahanapan ng ticket and at the same time, maganda ang pakikipag-usap,โ the faculty member added, citing concerns of inconsistent implementation of the said policy.
In an exclusive interview with The Blaze, SSC Vice President Rafael Jay Valix, addressed this by saying, โSome of the faculties ay nakakalusot po kasi dalawa lang kaming tao doon,โ he stated when asked regarding the inconsistency of the ticketing system implementation, with some faculty members from other colleges being granted access to the venue without ticket.
Furthermore, Valix addressed in the interview the emphasis of their priority, which lies on accommodating the students, due to capacity constraints of the gymnasium. โThis event is organized by Supreme Student Council, so we are more focused on accommodating our student rather than the faculty kasi may sarili po silang event, hindi naman po Mr. and Ms. TSU Faculty โto โ Mr. & Ms. TSU ng students po ito.
As for the alleged โdisrespectful toneโ, Valix clarifies that they are raising voices because of the noise inside the venue and people in the area. โ Valix expressed.
Meanwhile, last Wednesday, during the verification of Battle of the Bands tickets, some students also criticized through a private Facebook post a specific SSC officer for allegedly using foul and offensive words while managing the crowd, drawing backlash from students and from the online community.
In response to this, an official statement by the SSC has been posted yesterday on their official page, denying the claims and asserting that the reported incidents did not occur as described.
