With this yearโ€™s Tarlac City Sports Meet wrapping up last January 31, eight athletes from the College of the Holy Spirit of Tarlac (CHST) emerged victorious and have secured their tickets for the 2025 Central Luzon Regional Athletics Association Sports Meet as they are set to represent Tarlac City in Swimming, Womenโ€™s Badminton Singles, and Taekwondo.

Despite being injured mid-match, Sophia Millado has added another City Meet title to her display and will be competing in her fourth CLRAA Sports Meet after winning gold in last weekโ€™s event, expressing that she will be working extra hard to achieve her dream of qualifying for Palarong Pambansa.

โ€œUltimate goal ko po talaga is to have a stronger mind and heart in the game. Iba po kasi yung lagay kapag ikaw na mismo ang naglalaro. Pero siyempre, goal ko rin every game or tournament to win and to give my very best. However, iba rin yung this year eh, na-injure ako mid-match kaya emotional nung nanalo and felt relieved kasi I was able to still give my all. Kaya mas motivated din ako this year, para makabawi and mag-qualify naman sa Palaro,โ€ Millado said.

Joining Millado is taekwondoin Carissa Cachero, who bagged gold in Poomsae, racking up another Taekwondo title following her wins in her previous events, hoping to nab another CLRAA win and qualify for the Palarong Pambansa for the second year in a row.

Lawn tennis TCPEIA champion Martina Mejia also dominated the court eliminating the PSAA and TSU LS earning her ticket to represent Tarlac City in secondary girls singles.

Along with these athletes, five out of nine CHSTian swimmers have also qualified for the upcoming CLRAA after the entire team took home 15 gold, nine silver, and five bronze medals.

Achilles Ortiguera managed to qualify for Elementary Boys after winning a gold medal in the 100m Backstroke and two silvers for 100m Freestyle and 50m Breastroke.

Taking home a total of eight medals for her City Meet journey, Tricia Tabamo, who competed in Elementary Girls, bagged six gold medals for 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle, 4x100 Medley Relay, and 4x100 Freestyle Relay, and two silver medals for 50m Freestyle and 50m breaststroke.

Qualifying for Secondary Boys, Red Ortiguera will be joining his little brother in the CLRAA Meet, taking two golds after winning in the 200m Individual Medley and the 4x100M Medley Relay, and a silver medal for 50m butterfly.

Jewel Fabricante will also join her fellow CHSTian swimmers after nabbing the silver in 400m Individual Medley, two bronze for 200m Individual medley and 1500m Freestyle, and two golds for 4x100m Medley Relay and 4x50m Freestyle Relay.

Completing the roster of CHSTian CLRAA Qualifiers is Secondary Girlsโ€™ Swimmer Sheryll Abril, who took home four gold and three silver medals, winning in the 50m Backstroke, 800m Freestyle, 4x50 Medley Relay and 4x50 Freestyle relay, while winning silver in the 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke, and 400m Freestyle.

Just slightly missing out on a CLRAA ticket are Womenโ€™s Table Tennis singlesโ€™ participant Danielle Ibuan, and Womenโ€™s Table Tennis Duo Lanjela Pasagui and Alicia Gapay, who all finished in second place.

With her previous victories in the 2024 SMART MVP Sports Foundation Taekwondo Championship Zambales, Taekwondo jin Janela Bumagat failed to clinch CLRAA berth after her stint in Kyorugi.

Four swimmers also fell short on qualifying for the Regional Meet, which includes Tiernan Capulong who won two gold medals, one for 4x50 M Freestyle Relay and another for the 4X50m Medley Relay, also winning a silver medal for 100m Butterfly, and a bronze for 50m Breaststroke.

Alexandria Simbol was the second swimmer who missed out on the CLRAA experience, taking home one gold for 4x100 Freestyle Relay, four bronzes for 50m, 100m, and 200m Breastroke, as well as the 200m Freestyle.

Meanwhile, Jahzara Balilia also failed to advance to CLRAA despite banking a gold for 4x50 Medley Relay along with Nigella Consul who also placed fourth for 50m Breastroke.

The Baseball and Softball team both bowed down to Public Schools Athletic Association representative, the San Manuel High School, both settling as bridesmaid in the athletic meet.

The school is expressing the deepest and sincerest congratulations to everyone who have represented the CHST and TCPEIA.

As of February 4, no final set date and venue has been announced for the 2025 CLRAA Sports Meet.

๐‘น๐’†๐’‚๐’…๐’š, ๐‘บ๐’†๐’•, ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’Š๐’!

No one dares to brave the uncharted waters of the future. Not until the captains, with their wisdom and guidance, light up the way.

Life often throws unexpected curveballs on oneโ€™s path - unexpected plot twists, difficult situations, and dark moments. Travelling this journey on oneโ€™s own without guidance would drown someone in an indescribable emptiness, leaving them lost and stranded. Yet, the future of each individuals is not lost in this stormy journey. Afterall, the educators who are the captains of the future are present to steer the wheel of oneโ€™s life into the right path.

With their patience in teaching hundreds of lessons on different subjects and giving activities and quizzes that enhances a studentโ€™s capabilities, educators truly teach young individuals skills that they would later on apply in their future paths. However, being an educator is not only caged within the notion that they only teach these aspects in a classroom setting. These heroes and captains come in different forms and in times we need them the most. They instill values and life lessons that inspires and sparks growth within us. They see the potentials and goodness of an individual that they themselves do not even realize. And most of all, they point the direction to the light when we are surrounded with darkness.

The future is indeed an unknown territory that no one knows. But, the educators would always serve as oneโ€™s guiding light.

Successfully emerging through tough competition as one of the few representatives of the Tarlac Division in the 2024 Asian Science and Mathematics Olympiad (ASMO) 2024, Nicole Fe Ramos from the College of the Holy Spirit of Tarlac lands a silver win in English and a Merit award in Science announced on October 18, 2024.

ASMO is a competition crafted and held annually for Southeast Asian countries and students to ratify their critical and logical skills in science and math to reach and compete for global standards and non-routine technology, according to their grade level.

The grade 10 student of the CHST battled against various provinces in the Philippines, including NCR, Cagayan de Oro, and Pampanga; Ramosโ€™ win qualifies her to the international round of ASMO 2024 to be held in Thailand this coming 2025.

According to the science olympiad, she will be competing for Global English Language Olympiad Of Southeast Asia (GELOSEA) 2024 and the Future Intelligence Students Olympiad (FISO) 2024 in replacement for competing for the international round of ASMO.

As we flip the page to 2025, the next chapter is ready to be captured.

If 2024 were a photo album, it would be filled with snapshots of highs and lowsโ€”some frames capturing moments of success, personal growth, and making a real difference in the world. But there were also those pictures that made us pause, reminding us of the challenges we faced and the uncertainty that came with them.

This new year is about taking new shotsโ€”embracing fresh opportunities, creating new memories, and focusing on the beauty in every moment, even the messy ones. The snapshots of this year will be filled with growth, courage, and the spirit of community. So, letโ€™s grab our cameras and make 2025 a collection of moments weโ€™ll never forget. ๐Ÿ“ธ
