Grabe, this photo really hits deep. As someone from the BPO/CPO industry, this photo speaks volumes. Night after night, thousands of call center agents sacrifice sleep, health, and family time just to keep the wheels of the economy turning. We are the mga “Bayaning Puyat”, the modern-day heroes who keep global businesses alive while the rest of the country sleeps. And yet, where do our hard-earned taxes go?

Call center employees are among the highest taxpayers in this country. Every cutoff, automatic tax deductions. Sad reality, hindi natin ramdam kung saan napupunta yung buwis na pinaghihirapan natin.

Instead of better healthcare, safer communities, or real worker support, we see news of officials enjoying luxury trips and lavish lifestyle… and now billions wasted on so-called flood control projects. And let’s be real, this is just the tip of the iceberg. If this is what’s happening here, paano pa kaya sa ibang gov agencies/projects na hindi pa nagiging viral?

To my fellow Bayaning Puyat: never forget your worth. If we can power global businesses, we can demand a government that truly works for its people.

And as we raise our voices, we also lift our prayers, that leaders may govern with integrity, that justice will prevail, and that every sacrifice of the Filipino worker will finally bear fruit. May honesty flourish, and may our collective cry turn into real change for our country. And most of all, may God protect our country.

We hope, we fight, and we pray for a brighter Philippines. 🇵🇭🫶🏻🙏
