Introducing: TEAM NAGA 2025 ✨

As she confirmed her bid for Mayor in her home city, former Vice President Leni Robredo announced today the candidates selected for Team Naga's 2025 slate.

The line-up is the result of extensive consultations conducted by Robredo, who invited Naga's residents, organizations, and sectors to field and vet aspiring candidates.

"Ang aking mga kasama ngayon, lahat na-evaluate base sa tatlong kategorya: sa ethical standards, sa capacity at experience, sa governance," Robredo said in Bikol.

Outgoing Camarines Sur Rep. Gabby Bordado is the chosen candidate for Vice Mayor. Prior to his stint in Congress, Bordado served as Naga’s Vice Mayor, alongside Robredo's late husband, Jesse, who led Naga's model of good governance and people participation.

Meanwhile, in accordance with the rankings in the vetting process, the following will be Team Naga’s candidates for the City Council (left to right):
• Outgoing City Administrator Elmer Baldemoro
• Incumbent Councilor Jess Albeus
• Incumbent Councilor Gayle Abonal-Gomez
• Outgoing City Budget Officer Frank Mendoza
• Atty. Areiz Macaraig
• Former City Health Officer Dr. Butch Borja
• Former Councilor Miles Raquid-Arroyo
• Incumbent Councilor Omar Buenafe
• Incumbent Councilor Jose Perez
• Incumbent Councilor Oying Rosales

A tradition started by her late husband, long-time Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo, all aspiring candidates were vetted based on a criteria that included integrity, character, experience, and contribution to people empowerment. Over 2,000 Nagueños participated in this process.

Preciously remembered. 3rd Heavenly Anniversary of our dear Sec Dinky Soliman. Her heart for the poor, most notably, in championing the 4Ps when it was still an executive program, or not yet institutionalized via a law, is a timeless legacy that transcends her life in service to the Filipino people.

𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓

The President spent his birthday as just another busy day in the office, with the same dedication to his job that has marked his presidency.

He traveled hundreds of kilometers to grant farmers a condonation of their debts and gifted them with a new financing program that will boost farm yields and farmers’ incomes.

He ordered the payment of the bills incurred that day by qualified patients in third-level DOH hospitals.

He opened the gates of Malacañang, where food booths awaited people from all walks of life who came from near and far to greet him a happy birthday.

The President celebrated his birthday with his signature compassion for the needy and the sick, and his deep appreciation for the farmers who feed the nation.

After a tiring day filled with official engagements, he attended a party thrown by his old friends at a hotel in Pasay, and to his surprise and appreciation, music was provided by Duran Duran.

𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬

From June 5-15, 2024, Social Pulse Philippines conducted a poll on the upcoming 2025 Naga City Mayoral Election. With a margin of error of +/- 3%, here are the standings of the potential candidates:

𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐏 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐢 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐨:66%
𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧:18%

Former VP Leni Robredo is currently leading the race by a significant margin. However, with 16% of voters still undecided, there is potential for shifts in voter preferences.

What do you think of these early poll numbers? Will Mayor Legacion close the gap, or will Robredo maintain her strong lead? Share your thoughts and join the conversation in the comments below!

Ipasara na dapat ni Department of Interior and Local Government Sec. Benhur Abalos ang natitirang 200 ilegal na Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators sa bansa alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pres. , ayon kay Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez.

Kasunod ito ng pahayag ni Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission Executive Director Gilbert Cruz na mayroon pang nasa 200 underground POGOs na nag-o-operate pa rin.

"The report of Executive Director Cruz shows that hundreds of underground POGO operators are flouting President BBM’s directive. Secretary Abalos and Secretary Remulla should see to it that this is now strictly enforced," giit ni Rodriguez.

Iminungkahi niya rin na makipag-ugnayan ang Philippine National Police at National Bureau of Investigation sa PAOCC, Department of Information Communications and Technology , at telecommunications companies.

"Coordination with the DICT and telcos is important because POGOs, whether legal or illegal, are using the internet and mobile phones, which can give clues to the locations of POGO activities," aniya.

Prof. Walden Bello has my full support in the filing of his petition before the Supreme Court that essentially seeks to decriminalize libel and cyberlibel. Among the first bills I filed when I became Senator in 2016 was one that specifically aims to remove the penalty of imprisonment for libel. Prof. Walden and I, along with the other speakers of truth to power in our country, know firsthand the dark side of how such draconian measures are being used to stifle dissent, attack free expression, threaten media independence, and ultimately, weaken democracy. No to weaponization of the law. Yes to civil liberties. Let’s always foster an environment for healthy and well-informed debate where no one is unjustly silenced.
