Happy Independence Day🇵🇭

I know it might seem ironic for a Japanese person like me to be celebrating Independence Day,
but I truly love this country—and today, I’m genuinely celebrating here in Cebu.

It’s been a year since I decided to become the most well-known Japanese person in the Philippines.
Since then, I’ve experienced the beauty of Filipino culture firsthand—not just passively,
but by learning to cook local dishes and diving deep into the heart of this country.

I’ve come to know the Philippines more than most Japanese people ever do,
and now I even get comments saying “You’re Pinoy!” 😂

From here on, I’ll keep exploring this amazing country…
and one day, I’ll Be King of the Philippines. 👑

Today, I explored Catmon, Cebu. Catmon is famous for Budbud Kabog so I visited there asking for that Filipino food. However, it’s Sunday today and no Budbud store was open…😂 ( or already sold out )

Instead, I got to learn Bibingka is also famous there and I enjoyed eating Bibingka with locals. Here’s a bit countryside and there’s no Jollibee, Mang Inasal, McDonald’s but I experienced Filipino warm heart again. Thank you for welcoming me, pinoys.

I’ll be king of the Philippines.
