"General Climaco National High School Nakibahagi sa Nationwide Earthquake Drill at Fire Prevention Training"

Nakibahagi ang General Climaco National High School (GCNHS) sa First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill kaninang alas-10 ng umaga, ika-13 ng Marso, taong 2025.

Kasama sa drill mga ahensya ng City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), at Coast Guard. Nagdaos din BFP ng Fire Prevention and Response Training, kung saan ipinakita ang tamang paggamit ng fire extinguisher sa panahon ng sunog.

Mahalaga ang Earthquake drill sa mga estudyante dahil tinutulungan silang maging handa, matutong kumilos ng tama sa oras ng lindol, at mabawasan ang takot. Ito rin ay nagtuturo ng teamwork at pagpapalawak ng kaalaman tungkol sa mga safety measures, na makakatulong sa kanilang kaligtasan sa panahon ng emergency.

With the theme "Ani ng Sining Diwa at Damdamin" Students eagerly participate in diverse contests such as Pintahusay, Mobile Photography, Kakaning Pinoy, Singing Idol, and a grand Exhibit. These events vividly showcase their talents and heartfelt performances celebrate the harvest of creativity, spirit, and emotion, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines.

The Culmination Program highlighted the handsewn dresses of Dressmaking students in a runway accompanied by the beats from the very own tribal band of the school- the Casoy Drumbeaters.

School Learning Action Cell on the DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) Adoption Training Enhances Educators' Skills in Microsoft 365

General Climaco National High School (GCNHS) held its School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) session from February 11 to 14, 2025, at the MAPEH Instructional Court daily from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This intensive training initiative is designed to equip teachers and non-teaching personnel with essential skills to harness the full potential of Microsoft 365 tools, significantly enhancing their teaching practices.

This program is part of the larger DepEd Computerization Program (DCP), aimed at boosting technology integration into the educational landscape. By focusing on Microsoft 365, the training will allow educators to become proficient in various essential tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms, SharePoint, OneDrive, Learning Accelerators, and Copilot. The training spans five comprehensive modules distributed over two quarters, from January to April 2025.

The goal of this program is to ensure that educators can seamlessly incorporate these technologies into their day-to-day activities, increasing their productivity and creating an enriched learning experience for students. The modules focus on practical, hands-on learning, enabling teachers to effectively integrate these tools into lesson preparation, collaboration, and teaching.

The initiative aligns with key DepEd guidelines, particularly DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2016, which emphasizes ICT integration in lesson planning, and DepEd Order No. 78, s. 2010, and DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2023, which highlight the importance of the DepEd Computerization Program. Furthermore, it supports the objectives of DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2017, encouraging the positive use of ICT in education. Through these policies, the program ensures that the training not only supports educators’ professional development but also aligns with the department's mission to provide equitable, accessible, and inclusive education.

A total of 67 participants attended the SLAC session, consisting of 62 teaching personnel and 5 non-teaching staff members from General Climaco National High School. Master Teacher 1, Mrs. Ninque C. Solteral, facilitated the sessions, bringing her expertise in the integration of technology in education to help empower educators in using Microsoft 365 to improve teaching and learning.

Through this initiative, DepEd aims to strengthen the connections within the education sector while ensuring that its educators are equipped with the tools and knowledge to prepare students for a future that is increasingly digital and interconnected.

January 24, 2025 - DepEd Medical Team in partnership with Toledo City Health conducted a vital symposium focused on HIV awareness and prevention at General Climaco National High School's covered court.

The "Be Seen, Be Heard" theme underscores the importance of open communication and education in combating the stigma surrounding HIV.

The event, attended by teachers and students from Grades 10, 11, and 12 where 127 individuals participated in HIV Testing, highlights the school's commitment to providing comprehensive health education to its students.

This occasion demonstrates the collaborative approach to tackling this critical public health issue.
