"Welcome Home, Our Hero"
This is base on true events and a real story of an OFW. She was finally coming home after years of working in another country. Without telling her family, she planned to surprise them — bringing along her pasalubong and a smile that showed how eager she was to hold her loved ones again.
After landing in the Philippines, she boarded a bus toward her province. Her eyes shone with joy, her heart racing with excitement. She was so close to home.
But along the journey, she quietly closed her eyes… and never opened them again. She passed peacefully, her soul returning to the Lord.
Though this event is heartbreaking, on the other hand, there is still something beautiful that happened — God allowed her to return home. She took her last breath already back in her beloved country, carrying the love she had always kept for her family.
Talkmates, Her story is a reminder for all of us — life is uncertain, and we never know when our time or our loved ones’ time will come. That’s why we should never wait to show our love, especially to those far from us who sacrifice so much. A simple “How are you?” or “I love you” might seem small, but it can mean everything. Let’s choose to fill our days with love and gratitude, because every moment is a gift.
Salute to all OFWs.
