**Tuguegarao City Imposes Citywide Measures Due to Typhoon Enteng**

The Mayor of Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Ting Que has announced the suspension of classes at all levels effective 1 PM today due to the heightened threat of Typhoon Enteng. The city has been placed under Red Alert Status, prompting a series of precautionary measures to ensure public safety.

A liquor ban is now in effect throughout the city. Additionally, a curfew for minors has been set from 9 PM to 4 AM. Residents are also advised against swimming in rivers and floodwaters due to the risk of strong currents and potential flooding.

Garbage collection services have been suspended for today. Malls and other recreational areas are instructed not to allow entry to students and minors unless they are accompanied by their parents or guardians.

**Classes Suspended in Tuguegarao City Due to Typhoon Enteng**

**General Flood Advisories Issued for Several Regions**

At 10:20 PM on September 1, 2024, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued General Flood Advisories (GFA) for several regions in the country due to expected heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Enteng.

Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) has been placed under General Flood Advisory No. 1.

Region 3 (Central Luzon) and Region 4A (CALABARZON) are both under General Flood Advisory No. 3 (Intermediate), indicating a higher risk of flooding in these areas.

News Update for

Tropical Depression Enteng is maintaining its strength and is nearing landfall or passing very close to Catanduanes. As of 7:00 PM on Sunday, it was located over the coastal waters of Baras, Catanduanes.

In addition to Catanduanes, Wind Signal No. 1 has now been raised in parts of Nueva Vizcaya and additional towns in Cagayan, Aurora, and Quezon.

The weather disturbance is expected to intensify into a tropical storm and then a severe tropical storm as it moves over eastern and northern Luzon from Monday through Thursday. It may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday as a typhoon.

Enteng, along with the southwest monsoon it will enhance, is forecasted to bring torrential rains across Luzon throughout the week. This poses a risk of serious and widespread flooding and landslides.

AFFECTED AREAS BY TYPHOON ENTENG IN CAGAYAN INCREASED.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) monitoring as of 8:00 PM, September 01, 2024, the towns added to the list are Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Gonzaga, and Santa Ana.

According to PAGASA, the mentioned towns may experience intermittent strong winds and rain in the coming hours. As of 7:00 PM, the typhoon was spotted in the coastal area of Baras, Catanduanes, with winds near the center at 55 kph and gusts up to 70 kph.

As the announcement has been made all Mayors are alert in guiding every town and city they take charge. Meanwhile, PAGASA has also issued a warning that from tomorrow until Tuesday, Cagayan and nearby provinces may experience rainfall ranging from 100-200 mm, which could lead to flooding and landslides.
