Goodbyes
There are goodbyes we expect—those that bring hope or brighter opportunities. Like leaving for a place believed to offer greener pastures, or moving far away to finally reunite with loved ones. These goodbyes, though bittersweet, leave a light feeling in the heart and a gentle smile on the face.
But then, there are the goodbyes that are hardest to bear—the ones that come with loss. Especially the kind where death closes every door: no more chances to fix what's broken, to reconcile, or to do the things you once enjoyed together. Nothing remains but memories—flashes of joy that feel like they happened just yesterday.
You sigh. You remember. And you ache.
No matter how deeply you wish to be with that person again, the hope is gone. The pain is sharp, almost unbearable—your heart races, your knees weaken, and your whole body feels like it might collapse. Accepting this kind of goodbye takes time. It’s a long, winding journey through grief—a rollercoaster of emotions.
But still, we survive.
Yes, we do.
We are resilient—created with an inner strength we often don’t realize we have. We carry the weight, we face the sorrow, and we move forward. Because that’s the truth about life: it’s filled with painful goodbyes.
But we endure.
Because we must.
