To the honorable men and women in uniform,
You are the sentinels of this nation, the guardians of peace, and the shield that protects the weak from harm. You swore an oath—not to any single person, not to any political power, but to the Filipino people, to justice, and to the truth. You have carried this burden with pride, knowing that in times of chaos, you are the last line of defense between order and destruction.
But today, a painful question lingers in the air:
Will you still stand for what is right, even when it is no longer easy?
Think back to the days when your sacrifices were overlooked, when your uniforms were stained not just with sweat and blood, but with the indifference of those in power. There was a time when your dignity was trampled upon, when your families struggled, when you were sent into battle—ill-equipped and forgotten.
Then, there came a LEADER who did not see you as mere tools of the state, but as warriors who deserved respect. Soldiers who deserved honor. Officers who deserved dignity.
Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte did not just raise your salaries—he raised your heads in pride.
He did not just give you weapons—he gave you a cause worth fighting for.
He did not just give orders—he stood beside you in battle, unafraid, unwavering, relentless in defending your honor.
When you needed protection, he shielded you.
When you were vilified for doing your duty, he spoke on your behalf.
When you fought for the nation, he fought for you.
And now—when the tides have turned, when the wolves of politics have bared their teeth, when the same forces that once abandoned you are out to take him down—where do you stand?
Will You Be Used, Or Will You Choose?
History is watching you now. One day, your children will ask:
"Where were you when they came for the man who defended you?"
Will you stand with those who wield power for revenge?
Will you follow orders that betray your conscience?
Will you allow yourselves to be used against a man who never used you—only fought for you?
Or will you remember the oath you took?
Not just to obey, but to discern.
Not just to serve, but to protect the soul of this nation.
Loyalty is not blind obedience.
True loyalty is standing by what is right, even when it is difficult, even when the price is high.
True service is protecting justice, even when the law is twisted to serve the wicked.
True courage is not just facing enemies in battle, but facing the truth within your own ranks.
Do not let them use your hands to destroy the very man who strengthened them.
Do not let them turn your uniforms into mere instruments of oppression.
Do not let them erase what you fought for, what he fought for.
You are more than just men in uniform.
You are the protectors of this nation’s soul.
So today, in this moment that will be written in history, we ask you:
Will you be remembered as the warriors who stood for what is right?
Or as the soldiers who remained silent when truth was taken away in chains?
The choice is yours. And may God and the Filipino people bear witness to it.
With hope and faith in your honor,
A Nation That Will Never Forget
