Second Day of One-on-one Training

Today I focused on our Tank player.

This time, it's more about guiding him in-game, unlike yesterday in which I did more of a conversation approach.

I gave him some tasks/assignments on what he should do in-game, then I would spectate his games and point out on what he should improve after each game.

He's showing good signs of improvement, his aggression is slowly becoming in par with what I aim for it to be. Up to the point that he actually can focus on his objectives without me having to shotcall. It surprised me.

Although there are things he should still improve on, like his hero pool and micro skills.

I still have to talk to him about falling asleep during grinds 🤦

Ps. It's important to also ask input from his teammates, since they are the ones he always plays with.

First day of One-on-one training

I focused on assessing my players' weaknesses. They need to overcome that in order to improve.

Our Tank had problems with aggressive gameplay. He was a bit too scared in trying to disrupt enemy jungle.

I had to boost his confidence, he needs to see that he can do it if he tried.

🔴 Micro Skill: Calculated Aggression

I tried teaching him Calculated Aggression, which is playing aggressively while lowkey playing smart and safe.

🔴 Micro Skill: Secret Ally

When invading, you are not alone. You can use the enemy Jungle Monsters to your advantage and have them help you damage enemy heroes.

Our Support was picking non-comfort heroes because they told him so, which was bad. And it lead to the defeat of the midlane.

He needs to realize that he's the one playing the role and not the other players. Suggestions are good, but if you follow them out of fear, it's toxic.

I asked him to have more confidence in himself and prioritize his comfort heroes.

Anyway, I'm here to drop something. This is from the interview with Coach Duckey.

While Drafting:
❌ Based on Hero Composition (The best pick composition wise)
✔️ Based on Hero Mastery (The hero you really know how to use)

~ You should pick the hero na komportable ka gamitin, yung hero na alam mo talaga inside-out. Picking based on the composition is still viable. However, wag mo na ituloy if di mo naman maalam nung hero na yon. You'll do better kapag comfortable ka sa hero mo 🤗

✔️ Draft as a team

~ This is important. Two heads are better than one, what else kapag isang buong team kayo magtutulungan. Honestly, having one person draft for the team puts too much stress on that individual. So help each other out 😉
