TAYTUNGIANS’ THRIVING — A SUMMER OF ENRICHMENT AND EXCITEMENT

Excited and eager Taytungians commemorated a significant milestone last May 31, 2025, where each emerged to showcase the incredible skills and talents they enriched during the Summer Enhancement Program with a culminating activity at the Kinder Auditorium — every triumph made reached new heights where everyone present could appreciate them.

The BTTHS Summer Enhancement Program completes the purpose of fulfilling your summer break from your scholarly deeds. This program transpired from May 13 to May 30, arranging courses that allow beginners to explore vast interests in unique subjects such as dancing, public speaking, mathematics, baking, and more! Yet it also further aims to help them unlock abilities, answer curiosities, and tie connections surrounding us, which opens doors to endless possibilities for pupils.

Through the collaborated effort of proud educators, parents, and students, the summer enhancement program became more than just learning opportunities; they transitioned into a thrilling community of support and encouragement. United as one, they cultivated a space where potential was celebrated, creativity was unleashed, and confidence was built. The shared commitment to each child's growth allows students to step out of their comfort zones and sprout in ways they had never imagined.

Efenio Wins Bronze in Ball Apparatus at Palarong Pambansa 2025

Matthea Given Efenio brought pride to Bacolod Tay Tung High School and Region VI after winning the bronze medal in the Ball Apparatus event at Palarong Pambansa 2025.

Bacelona and Ysulan Win Silver in Palarong Pambansa 2025

Paul Adrian Bacelona and Alfred Ysulan brought pride to Bacolod Tay Tung High School after finishing as silver medalists in the Secondary Boys Basketball category of the Palarong Pambansa 2025. Representing Region VI, both student-athletes were handpicked to be part of the regional team, showcasing their talent and dedication on the national stage.

Their outstanding performance helped propel Region VI to a strong finish in the tournament.

A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE: THE CLARION TRIUMPHS AT DSPC 2025

18 campus journalists from Bacolod Tay Tung High School’s junior high publication, The Clarion, represented the school in the recently concluded Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2025, held at Rizal Elementary School on March 21, 2025.

With the guidance of the publication adviser, Patricia Anne Gayte, the students earned recognition on stage for their outstanding performances, bringing home medals and certificates from multiple categories on March 22.

The results are as follows:

Charlene Ann C. Lim - 2nd Place in Sports Writing (Filipino)
Rycel Mae J. Basinag - 6th Place in Editorial Cartooning (Filipino)
Mecca Edsai A. Robles - 7th Place in Column Writing (Filipino)

Samantha and Charlene secured spots for the upcoming Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) 2025 after placing in the Top 5 in their respective categories.

SMILES FOR ALL: BACOLOD CITY CHAPTER DENTAL MISSION

In celebration of the Science month and Oral health awareness month, the BTTHS Science Department and Philippine Dental Association - Bacolod City Chapter conducts a dental mission outreach held at Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) on February 22, 2024, titled “Brushing ang Key sa Ngiping Healthy” accommodating patients from GK Cabug and BTTHS utility personnel, ranging from kids to adults.

This dental mission was composed of free operations and treatments such as Fluoride Application and Tooth Extraction for the kids and adults. Several student volunteers from BTTHS clubs and organizations such as the Serviam, Photography Club and the Student Council Organization (SCO) aided in the operations, a platform for students to be more engaged in outreach activities.

Aside from treatments, the mission also focused on oral health education. Mini workshops were held to teach proper brushing techniques, the importance of flossing, and the risks of untreated cavities. Spreading more awareness about the importance of oral health education to not only the patients, but also the volunteers, staff and teachers of BTTHS.
