MANILA, Philippines — Content creators, listen up! Starting August 31, 2025, Facebook is shaking up its monetization system with the launch of the Content Monetization Program (CMP) — a move that’s got creators buzzing online.

According to multiple reports and community posts, CMP will replace Facebook’s existing monetization programs like Performance Bonuses and Ads on Reels, streamlining everything into one creator-friendly system.

What has netizens and creators hyped? 👇

✅ Lower threshold – Rumors suggest monetization may be easier to unlock (possibly dropping to just 5,000 followers 👀).
✅ Bye-bye fact-checkers – Meta announced it’s retiring its controversial fact-checking system, to be replaced by community-driven moderation.
✅ More freedom of speech – Creators say they’re expecting fewer restrictions on sensitive words and topics.
✅ Expanded eligibility – Even politics and religion could soon be monetizable without fear of losing ad revenue.
✅ Old content revival – Posts once flagged as “not monetizable” may finally earn income under the new system.

For millions of Filipino creators grinding day and night, this could mean bigger opportunities, fewer headaches, and more freedom to post content without worrying about sudden demonetization.

But here’s the catch: while some changes (like CMP consolidation and fact-checker removal) are confirmed, others remain unverified until Meta drops its official guidelines.
