Let God correct us.

”My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.”
Proverbs 3:11

Last year, I did a sermon to this big church with a topic about repentance. It was how we are SDAs are doing the very things we are taught not to do, for example our health reform. I mentioned how we are so into eating fastfood instead of following the counsel to us in SOP. I also mentioned some fast food chain like Mcdonalds which really really upset them. After lunch, few elders brought me to a meeting and spoke to me about my sermon. They were not happy about it. They questioned my sermon where I got it. If you know me I only have 2 reference book, Bible and Spirit of Prophecy. They were offended and said I should not say it because maybe others will be offended esp newly baptized. (But should they know about the truth if they are newly baptized?) It was not in a loving way but in a very very very disrespectful way. I was shook! I brought it all to God coz literally I was traumatized. I praise God that His grace is always sufficient.

Did I stop speaking the call of repentance? Did I stop calling the church for its stubbornness? No! Sorry, but No! My sermon is not to pacify anyone nor satisfy human hearts. My sermon is what my Father gives me to deliver. Im a mere messenger.

Weeks ago, I preached almost the same sermon to another church. And we were all blessed and we decided to be even more reformed in the way we live as christians. This is a message to me of one of our bretheren.

Some are willing some are not. Some are happy to be corrected some are not.

Let God correct us. He loves us. He is coming soon we must prepare.

Based on 1 Samuel 8-12
God had separated the Israelites from every other people, to make them His own peculiar treasure. But they, disregarding this high honor, eagerly desired to imitate the example of the heathen! And still the longing to conform to worldly practices and customs exists among the professed people of God. As they depart from the Lord they become ambitious for the gains and honors of the world.

I’M FULLY PAID.

Every time I serve my boss I serve them with all my heart, with all honesty and diligence. Kahit sa pag slice ng gulay, or sa pag laga ng itlog, or sa pag plate ng fruits I always do it with all my best knowledge and ability. I would spend time reading cook book or read to increase the standard of my work. If you work with me you’ll know hindi pwede sakin ang pwede na.

Why? Because Im fully paid! Im not serving them just because they are kind to me but because monthly, Im fully paid. I ought to serve them with what Im paid for.

Now, I serve and worship God not for a reason that He is just nice to me. I worship Him because I AM FULLY PAID! Jesus was tempted at the wilderness, pressed at Gethsemani, heavily burdened for our sin, tortured on the cross. He endured all things unimaginable to pay my/our debts we could never pay! HE PAID IT ALL WITH HIS LIFE. Now what should I give?

I can only give my disgusting, filthy, broken, unrighteous heart! And now that Im debt free, and cleansed from my iniquities and made right with God through Him, will I withhold my BEST worship and BEST service from Him? Through which I know, the very thing He asked of me is the very thing I need, to be saved from the corruption of this world! IM FULLY PAID SO IM HIS! HE OWNS ME! Thats why Im in great joy!

I am fully paid! Im glad I am!

1 Peter 1:18-20
”God paid a ransom to save you from the impossible road to heaven which your fathers tried to take, and the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver as you very well know. But he paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him for this purpose long before the world began, but only recently was he brought into public view, in these last days, as a blessing to you.”
