Espedido na KWF Mananaysay ng Taón 2025 pára sa kaniyang sanaysay na “Ang Metanaratibo ng Paglabag Bílang Saligang Paretyeya at Penahrang sa Preserbasyon ng mga Wikang Katutubo: Pahiwatig ng mga Alamat mulâ sa Bersiyong Saliling ng Bendingang Kepu’unpu’un” Makatatanggap siyá ng PHP30,000.00 at karangalang maging “Mananaysay ng Taón,” medalya, at plake.

Nagwagî din si Emersan D. Baldemor ng ikalawang gantimpala pára sa kaniyang sanaysay na “Amba, Di Ak Kalimdan: Panitikang Orál Bílang Daluyan ng Alaala, Laban, at Pagbabanyuhay ng Wika.” Makatatanggap siyá ng PHP20,000.00 at plake.

Hinirang naman si Precioso M. Dahe Jr. sa ikatlong gantimpala pára sa kaniyang sanaysay na “Sa Píling ng Pig-Aláran, Kuláman, at Ábyan, Sa bisyón ng mga Apù ng Piglamítan: Ang lagëng ng Kakahúyan, Míto, at ang Etnomusikolohíya ng Orál na Panitíkan laban sa Hámong Eremitísmo sa mga Katutúbong Wikà sa Pilipínas.” Makatatanggap siyá ng PHP15,000.00 at plake.

May karangalan naman sina Brian Harold M. Comeling para sa kaniyang sanaysay na “Hinabing Sálinlahì, Ílo ng Katutubò: Sosyal Midya at Teknolohiya Bílang Mákináng Habihán sa Kolaboratibong Preserbasyon at ang Panibagong Yugtong Oralidad ng Panitikang Katutubò sa Siglo ng Dihital” at Robert A. Andres para sa kaniyang sanaysay na “Ang Tínig na Hindi Nawawalâ: Panitikang Orál Bílang Dalúyan ng Pagpapasiglá ng mga Wíkang Katutubò.”

Ang Gawad KWF sa Sanaysay ay taunang gawad ng KWF para sa pinakamahusay na sanaysay hinggil sa mga pilî at napapanahong tema. Sa pamamagitan ng timpalak na ito, naitatanghal ang Filipino bílang wika ng saliksik.

Ang mga nagwagi ay gagawaran sa KWF Gabi ng Parangal sa 19 Agosto 2025. Hinihiling sa madla na sumubaysay sa KWF FB page hinggil sa lugar at iba pang detalye ng nasabing gawad.

ICYMI: Last August 9, 2025, Edge Sessions showcased Kindred Spirits, a heavy rock band from Quezon City known for turning chaos into catharsis through their music.

Composed of Belle (vocals/screamer), Nailz (rhythm guitar and backup vocals), Gab (lead guitar), Akia (bass), and Bonzai (drums), the band delivered a performance marked by gritty melodies, explosive riffs, and an unrestrained intensity that commanded the stage. Their blend of early heavy rock influences with a modern edge created a sound that was both raw and captivating, leaving a strong impression on the audience.

ICYMI: Last August 9, 2025, Edge Sessions showcased Short Visit, a Nu Metal band from Quezon City known for their fierce fusion of grit and energy. Since forming on May 26, 2016, the band has performed on major stages including Rakrakan Festival 2018, Muziklaban Semifinals, Alab ng Puso at Amoranto Stadium, and the RedHorse Kick-Off Party 2012.

The performance delivered intense riffs, pounding rhythms, and commanding stage presence, capturing the raw spirit of Nu Metal. Each member brought their own distinct style, blending seamlessly into a sound that resonated powerfully with the audience both on-site and online.

ICYMI: Last August 9, 2025, Edge Sessions showcased the raw and rhythm-filled sound of Numero — a band built on passion, persistence, and powerful songwriting.

Formed in 2021, with roots in songs written as early as 2005 by Umel Ros Zapanta, Numero evolved from a gathering of indie sessionists to a solid lineup: Umel Ros Zapanta (vocals, composer/lyricist), Berber Boncodin (lead guitar, arranger), Romeo Mallari Jr. (drums), Aemus Landrito (bass), TJ Capucao, and Deo Tobes II.

Performing a collection of original songs, the band delivered a set that reflected their creative journey and unique OPM style. Their performance brought energy, sincerity, and a deep connection to the audience, leaving a strong impression on the Edge Sessions stage.

From their early days of casual jams to winning the TaskUs LWT Riffs and Blast Battle of the Bands Season 1, Doors of July has proven their commitment to their craft. Now with their debut EP—featuring “Di Ka Akin,” “Kahapon,” “Break Free,” and “Cryola”—the band brought a set filled with emotion, energy, and stories of heartbreak, healing, and moving forward.

The band delivered a performance that left a lasting impression, proving that their journey is only just beginning.

BRIEF HISTORY:

Two years before Edge Radio started broadcasting in Lucena City, Edge was an event tour (Edge Tour) doing bar tours, music clinics and concerts in the university belt of Manila, art festivals, skateboard and BMX competitions and mall tours. All these were happening with not a single clue that one day we’ll be part of a nationwide FM radio network and what’s awesome is that it is the Edge Radio.
