Gusto mong maging mas present na tatay…
Kaso lagi kang distracted, pagod, o wala sa mood?
Akala ko dati kulang lang ako sa oras.
Busy sa work. May negosyo. May anak.
Pero mali pala ako.
Here are 5 things I did to become a more present Dad.
1. Dopamine Fasting
Avoiding constant stimulation like social media, gaming, and nonstop music helped me lower my dependence on easy dopamine.
I realized kapag hindi overloaded yung utak ko, hindi ko kailangan ng gaming or scrolling para malibang.
Simple things like cooking, cleaning, reading a book — enough na.
And it’s not even about entertainment.
It’s about the benefits:
Clean house.
Good food.
Knowledge from reading.
Mas meaningful use of time.
2. Habit Tracking & Journaling
Ideas are nothing without ex*****on.
Sobrang dami kong ideas.
Kapag na-overload ako, napaparalyze ako kasi di ko alam uunahin.
Writing things down helped me execute one by one.
Magsulat ka para magawa mo.
Para hindi mo isipin na tokis ka.
3. Weekly Routine
Daily perfection is unrealistic kapag may work, negosyo, at anak ka.
Hindi lahat kayang isingit araw-araw.
For me, I sacrifice Sunday mornings:
Palengke. Luto. Linis.
Investment ko ‘to sa sarili ko.
It makes my weekdays chill and easygoing.
Less chaos. Less pagod.
4. Whole Foods
Hindi dahil gusto ko maging sexy. 😂
But I noticed whole foods make my energy more stable.
Walang brain fog.
Walang 1PM Snorlax mode.
Sulit buong araw.
5. Me Time
I learned that having time for myself is enough reward for everything I do.
You still need dopamine to stay motivated.
Just don’t rely on the easy kind — doom scrolling, mindless gaming, constant stimulation.
Earn your reward.
Don’t escape into it.
