Did you know that bees love male cannabis plants?

While male cannabis plants can be a breeders worst nightmare and are readily eradicated, as soon as they are identified, bees love to forage on male cannabis flowers.

Cannabis is a wind-pollinated plant so it doesn’t need pollinators, such as bees, for reproduction. As it doesn’t need to attract pollinators it doesn’t produce nectar, the principal ingredient in the production of delicious honey. But it does produce a lot of pollen; a single male flower can produce 350,000 pollen grains in its 2-4 week flowering period. And bees love it!

Bees collect pollen as it is essential food for them and for their young. Pollen is the only source of proteins for bees and without it, a bee colony could not survive (without human intervention).
