Today, we commemorate and remember the life and legacy of the former senator Benigno Aquino Jr., commonly known as Ninoy Aquino. The man who fought for the independence and democracy of Filipinos and the Philippines.

This day, August 21, 1983. He was tragically assassinated at an airport, now known as Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Despite his passing, his words and actions still remain as a reminder for all Filipinos to stand up for justice, truth, and our democratic rights.

Ninoy Aquino stood up courageously against dictatorship; despite all the challenges he encountered, he continuously spoke up and fought for every Filipino who was facing injustice. His contributions have made him a national hero in the country, a symbol of courage and democracy.

May this day continue to remind us of his life and legacy, and his famous words: โ€œ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฑ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ ๐˜ฅ๐˜บ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ.โ€
