In response to the recent earthquake incidents that struck various regions across the Philippines, Carlos P. Garcia High School (Cubao) conducted a school-wide earthquake drill on Thursday, October 16, 2025, to reinforce the importance of disaster preparedness and safety. ๐Ÿซโš ๏ธ

The activity aimed to equip students, teachers, and school personnel with the proper knowledge and skills to respond effectively in case of an actual earthquake. The drill simulated emergency situations, teaching Garcians how to stay calm, perform the โ€œDuck, Cover, and Holdโ€ maneuver, and safely evacuate school premises. ๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšช

Before the drill, Ms. Desiree T. Castillo led an evacuation briefing for students. During her discussion, she explained the schoolโ€™s evacuation plan, designated assembly areas, and important safety reminders during and after an earthquake. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ“‹

In partnership with Brgy. Captain Marciano R. Buena-Agua Jr. and the officials from Brgy. E. Rodriguez, the school also conducted an Earthquake Safety Seminar for School Personnel, attended by teachers and staff. The seminar provided valuable insights on risk reduction, emergency response, and first aid procedures to ensure a coordinated and effective response during disasters. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿงฏ๐Ÿ“š

The earthquake drill concluded successfully, leaving students more aware and confident about what actions to take during emergencies. Through continuous safety initiatives, Carlos P. Garcia High School reaffirms its commitment to keeping every Garcian safe and ready. ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒโœจ

Carlos P. Garcia High School (Cubao) once again proved its journalistic excellence as its campus journalists proudly represented the school in the Division Enhancement and Press Conference 2025, held last October 11โ€“12, 2025, at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo High School and Quirino High School. ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ

The two-day event gathered student journalists from various secondary private and public schools across District 3 of Quezon City to showcase their skills in campus journalism through writing and broadcasting contests. It served as both a training ground and competition for those aiming to qualify for the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

After days of preparation, the Garciansโ€™ hard work and dedication paid off as several students earned top spots in their respective categories, securing their advancement to the next level. ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

In a nail-biting football showdown at the District Athletic Meet, Carlos P. Garcia High School (Cubao) pulled off a dramatic comeback to defeat Jose P. Laurel Sr. High School, 2โ€“1, in a match that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŽ‰

The game, played in two halves of 30 minutes each, started with both teams showing tough defense and aggressive plays. The first half ended scoreless, with neither side able to break through despite several close attempts.

Momentum shifted in the second half when JPLSHS struck first around the 15th minute, taking a 1โ€“0 lead. With time running out, it seemed as though CPGHS was headed for defeat.

But the tide turned in the final moments. With just 10 minutes remaining, the teamwork of Cholo Quilbio and Denver Batag broke through the defense to score the much-needed equalizer, tying the game at 1โ€“1 and lifting the teamโ€™s spirit.

Only three minutes later, Carlos P. Garcia High School (Cubao) quickly followed up with another goal, sealing the comeback and securing a 2โ€“1 victory. โšก๐ŸŽŠ

It was nice to see how each participant expressed their love for our culture and language through various means. ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’ƒโœจ

This celebration reminded us that the Filipino language is more than just a subject in school. It is a part of our identity and something that connects us as one nation. Through activities like this, we learn to value and appreciate our culture while also enjoying and sharing our talents with others. Truly, Filipino Month is a special time to be proud of who we are as Filipinos. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญโค๏ธ

๐ŸŒ™๐Ÿซถ
