CHILI’S OPENS IN SM CITY CEBU🌶️
Chili's Philippines opened its 20th restaurant in SM City Cebu (Official) today. The restaurant hosted an Influencers’ Night last night and featured its delectable dishes including baby back ribs, quesadillas, tostada chips and salsa, signature wings, and molten chocolate cake. Also served during the event was its signature Presidente Margarita.

The SM City Cebu branch is the 3rd in Cebu and 3rd outside Luzon, said Chili’s Philippines Marketing Manager Khaye Buscato.

The restaurant opens to the public today. It is located at the 2nd level in the North Wing of SM City Cebu.

CitiGym Happy Run aims to raise funds for animal welfare group

After a brief hiatus, CITIGYM is back with an exciting half-marathon event—the CitiGym Happy Run—which introduces a special category for pet owners and their dogs.

Race day will be on April 6, to be preceded by the Happy Run Expo from April 3-5 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. Running participants can join for free the special activities during the expo, which will include sunset yoga, zumba, aqua zumba, dog training, rabies awareness talk, and a Guild of Runners segment.

The event, spearheaded by CitiGym Program and Fitness Director Adrienne Lee, aims to promote fitness while raising funds to support stray cats and dogs. Proceeds will go to the Happy Tails Animal Welfare Organization, a group dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating neglected and abused animals.

Participants can choose from various running categories with early bird rates until January 15, 2025:

Happy Tails Philippines, founded on the globally recognized Five Animal Freedoms—freedom from hunger and thirst; discomfort; pain, injury, or disease; fear and distress; and to express natural behavior—has been at the forefront of animal welfare for five years.

Hazel Aguisanda, President and Co-Founder of Happy Tails said they’ve seen many instances of animal cruelty in Cebu. Their group’s mission is to rescue and rehabilitate neglected and abused animals but such initiative depends on a steady source of funds.

With a goal to raise P200,000, CitiGym hopes to draw at least 3,000 participants to the event.

The New Year wasn’t peaceful and happy for 119 men in Cebu City who were detained in 1940 for using firecrackers without the permission of the city mayor (𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘥 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘣𝘶𝘩𝘪𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘩𝘪𝘥 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘥𝘦). Bag-ong Kusog reported that Mayor Vicente Rama, the grandfather of dismissed Mayor Michael Rama and the founder of the newspaper, visited the detainees and after having found they were unable to sleep well because they packed the detention cell (𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘥𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘥 𝘴𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘯), pardoned them and ordered their release.
