𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗜 | 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 ‘25

Vibrant energy and school pride filled Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National High School as Intramurals 2025 wrapped up after three days of thrilling competitions and spirited performances, August 30.

From adrenaline-pumping basketball games to lightning-fast sprints on the track, and from the grace of dance sports to the cultural flair of folk dances, every event showcased the talent, teamwork, and determination of each team. Cheers resonated across the campus, proving that sports and companionship will always remain the heart of the celebration.

More than the victories and medals, this year’s Intramurals stood as a testament to unity, sportsmanship, and the remarkable memories forged through the intense friendly competition and collaboration among Comehiers.

𝗣𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝘀𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝟲𝟵-𝟲𝟭; 𝗢𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼, 𝗯𝘂𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟱 𝗽𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀

Tinibag ng Pink Panthers ang twice-to-beat advantage ng Orange Phoenix at muling naghari sa Men’s Basketball matapos ang 69-61 na panalo sa finals, sa tulong ng matinding opensa ni Cris Lawrence Obando.

Maigting na sagupaan ang namayani sa unang dalawang kwarter ng laro matapos ipamalas nina Aldrin Evora ng Phoenix at James Raven Balasbas ng Panther ang tikas sa opensa at depensa. Sinabayan ito ng mga kalkuladong pagsalakay at bitaw ng tira na pinakawalan ng dilawan na tinapatan ng disenyadong play mula kina Arvie Gutierrez at Geinjeff Montero ng kabilang partido.

Agarang bumalikwas si Cris Lawrence Obando sa ikatlong kwarter matapos magsagawa ng sunod sunod na steal at break away lay-ups katulong ang Point Guard na si Balasbas na nagbunsod sa pagkabig ng momentum upang iangat at magtala ng 20 puntos na kalamangan kontra Orange Phoenix, 48-28.

Mabilisan naman itong pinasiklaban ni Edwin Eman Lopez ng Orange Phoenix nang agresibo nitong binasag ang depensa ng Panthers na nagpabalisa sa katunggali upang ibaba sa siyam na kalamangan, 59-50.

Sa kabila ng rumaratsadang pagbuntot ng Phoenix, hindi nagpatinag ang bangis ng Panthers nang panatilihin nito ang matatag na depensa na sinundan ng mga mid-range shots, lay-ups at putback sa mga huling segundo ng laban na tuluyang tumapos sa dikit na sagupaan at selyuhan ang kampoeonato, 69-61.

"Talagang pinilit naming mag champion ulit ang Grade 12 dahil last year kasi grade 12 din ang nag champion" ani Obando. Mula sa natamong tagumpay, itinanghal bilang Back-to-Back Champion ang Pink Panthers matapos ang huling pagkapanalo nito sa Intramurals 2024.

𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘃𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗹

A battle of intense focus and piercing hits were dominated by Orange Phoenix’s Aejay Alicaway against Dane Julius Balbacal of Red Griffins, turning the tables to his favor, August 28.

The billiard players of both teams indulged the crowd to a thrill in silence as Alicaway and Balbacal faced off in the Bracket A semi-finals, drawing a gruesome battle.

In respond to Balbacal’s precise break, Alicaway swept the ball one-by-one in a blink of an eye but was caught in the wrong hole when he failed to shoot the 7-ball. Despite being given the opening he anticipated, Balbacal failed to uphold his turn, missing the 8-ball and left the rest to Alicaway, claiming one round out of two.

In the second round, Alicaway starts off with a blazing 1-ball and 3-ball pocket, aimed with his trusty cue stick. Balbacal spotted a shot after his opponent missed the next ball, stressing Alicaway to a corner as he hid the target ball behind a range of balls in various circumstances.

Despite an out-of-reach position that Alicaway was pushed to, he rose to the challenge and accurately swept the ball one after another until the last. To sn**ch an awaited win, Phoenix’s player pierced through his opponent’s carefully thought strategy and devours Balbacal whole in both rounds, claiming gold of 10-balls competition and bringing pride to the Orange Phoenix.

𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗡 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗘
𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁

Pugay po! With utmost grit and zeal, matched with the accuracy and precision of each movement, Yellow Tarragons' Lucky Tolentino, Camille Bacsa, and Keith Domingo took off with flying colors, after bagging the gold in Arnis, earning a score of 27.2 points, August 30.

Tarragons' humility contradicted their spine-chilling routine as they exuded a thrilling single baston performance. Every roll and twirl of their sticks were executed like lightning on a mat, even dancing in which their rhythm almost perfectly in sync throughout the routine.

"Hindi po namin ine-expect na manalo, kase noong practice, madalas sila po ang napupuri kaya pinag-igihan nalang namin sa pag-e-ensayo", the young arnisadors proposed with an earful smile across their faces.

Tolentino, Bacsa, and Domingo's all-out effort disarmed podium chances for the departments of Grade 9 and 8, who both competed at the edge for silver and bronze, registering 25.9 and 26 points, respectively.

The first ever contest made way for these promising arnisadors to tighten their grip and confront the next competition, bringing both honor and pride to their beloved school, friends, and coaches.

𝗣𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅’𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆, 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲

Under the pressure of a nearing champion declaration, Pink Panthers resolved a swift victory amidst Orange Phoenix’s persistent flex of offense in a display of raging kills and spectating barricade in the Volleyball Girls championship, 2-0, August 29.

It was a battle of will and power, a defiance to a mutilating defeat as the Panthers and the Phoenix led an exhilarating match in the most awaited finals. The court was nothing short of anticipation and enthusiasm, filled with loud blows and desperate dives alongside the crowd’s cheers.

Gemalyn Jamig, team captain of the Volleyball Pantheress, drove her team to a showdown of exceptional spikes and delicate receives, unshaken by the fiery will of the Phoenix.

The first set was under the domineering command of the Panthers where they led a consistent five point gap against the Phoenix. Aubrey Eureka Casapao together with Levie Bueno stood predators to the Phoenix’s blind spots, earning them the first set, 25-17.

Letting humility run through their plays, the Phoenix were unable to secure a hold of the game flow under the piercing spikes of the Panthers led by Jamig. In the back, Eva Montesa pursued the balance of the team’s defense and offense, strengthening the movement in the midst of intensified rallies.

All while Panthers reigned in control, the Phoenix attempted to trickle the opposing team’s defense but failed under the pouncing blocks by Casapao. Pantheress Jamig wasted no time in capping the finals to their favor, ending the set the same way with an overpowered net spike, 25-18.

Enthroning the Panthers as the 2025 Volleyball Girls champions, the team showed that through humility and trust can success be achieved. With Jamig escorting the team to a play of precision and concentration, the Panthers swiped the match to an expeditious finish.

Walang kahirap-hirap na pinataob ng Pink Panthers ang nanlalatang koponan ng Orange Phoenix sa ikaapat na laro ng Women’s Volleyball sa iskor na 30-19 na pinangunahan ng gigil na team captain na si Jemalyn Jamig na lumagda ng walong puntos na nagbitbit sa kanila sa pag abanse sa finals ng Intramurals 2025 na ginanap sa Comehi, Agosto 28.

𝗣𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘅 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀

In the midst of the court, the high-flyers Orange Phoenix and the ground-breakers Pink Panthers faced off in a battle to decide who rules the court and who reigns supreme.

The Panthers—pushed to the edge—held on to their last chance of moving closer to the final triumph. It was their do-or-die moment: win and move forward for another shot at the title, or lose and fall in silver defeat.

The opening half jumped off with the Phoenix showing the Panthers why it is better to hunt from above than stay low, holding a 29-27 lead.

In a diminishing showdown of rebounds, raw power on the boards, and the outbreak of vast close-range shots, the second half roared with razor-sharp claws and wings of salvation gritting their teeth for the last minutes of the battle for victory.

As the ballgame drew to an end, the Phoenix lost their firepower and fell, 76-62, giving the Panthers a chance for gripping the championship title.
