Mariing kinokondena ng Department of Education – Schools Division Office ng Nueva Ecija ang nakakalungkot na insidente ng pamamaril sa isang paaralan nitong Huwebes, Agosto 7, na nag-iwan ng dalawang biktima sa kritikal na kondisyon.

TARLAC CITY — The team from the soon-to-open Jollibee Romulo Blvd. Branch in Tarlac City paid a courtesy visit to the office of Board Member Arron Villaflor ahead of their grand opening this August 8.

It was a meaningful encounter with some of the young team members—including Aisley Ardan, Jenelle Dela Cruz, Princess Simon, and Aljhon Shakespear—all of whom are working students striving to support their families while building their future.

San Simon Mayor Joins Ethics Seminar—Nabbed Hours Later in ₱80-Million Extortion Entrapment

San Simon, Pampanga – In a twist steeped in irony, Mayor Abundio “JP” Punsalan Jr. of San Simon was arrested just hours after attending an ethics and accountability seminar designed to uphold integrity in public office.

Earlier in the day, the mayor joined fellow local leaders at the L.E.A.D. Program (Leadership, Ethics, Accountability, and Development in Local Governance), held at Kingsborough International Convention Center in the City of San Fernando. The event—organized by the Provincial Government of Pampanga in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)—aimed to promote ethical leadership, transparency, and unity among public officials.

But by evening, Punsalan was caught in an entrapment operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) inside Clark Freeport. He was allegedly receiving ₱30 million in marked cash, believed to be part of a larger ₱80 million extortion scheme involving Real Steel Corporation in exchange for favorable business treatment.

Reliable sources claim the amount may be higher and suggest other questionable transactions are under scrutiny.

The arrest has triggered widespread outrage in Pampanga, with residents expressing disbelief at the sharp contrast between the seminar’s ideals and the reality of local politics. The symbolism is stark: a mayor who publicly pledged ethical governance, caught hours later in a corruption scandal.

Punsalan now faces charges under the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

San Simon—named after Saint Simon the Zealot, known for his faith and martyrdom—now finds itself under national scrutiny for what many see as a betrayal of public trust.

The “All New” 107.9 FM, Muews Radio Tarlac

HISTORY: The only community radio station in the Province of Tarlac broadcasting 24 hours a day. the first new music station in the province and the only radio station in Tarlac with so many anchors, commentators and reporters.

Went on Air around early 2014 over 107.9 FM with a maximum power of 2,000 watts. And was under Sagay Broadcasting Corp. Sometime in late 2018 the frequency was moved to 91.1 in partnership with Acacia Broadcasting. Around the middle of 2019 the frequency was moved back to 107.9 and operated for a short period until the management decided to shut it down permanently.

Muews Radio Tarlac is backed up by www.CentralLuzonBalita.com the first news magazine website in the province.
