On June 12, 1898, the Philippine flag was proudly raised in Kawit, Cavite, marking our nation's declaration of independence from Spanish colonial rule. This historic moment reminds us that freedom was not given—it was earned through courage, unity, and love for our country through the help and perseverance of our ancestors and all of the Filipino during the colonial period.
