Otroverts: The personality type that values emotional safety

Some people love big crowds, while others prefer quiet time alone. But there’s a growing term to describe those who don’t fit neatly into being extroverts or introverts—otroverts.

Otroverts are people who connect socially only when they feel emotionally safe. They aren’t shy like many introverts, nor do they seek constant interaction like extroverts. Instead, they carefully choose when and with whom to engage.

Psychologists say this personality type thrives in environments where trust, honesty, and comfort exist. An otrovert can be warm, engaging, and deeply connected in the right setting, but withdrawn or reserved in situations where they feel pressured or unsafe.

Here are some common traits of otroverts:

They enjoy meaningful connections but avoid forced small talk.

They balance their need for solitude with a desire for genuine relationships.

They open up only to people they trust.

They value honesty and depth in conversations over surface-level exchanges.

For friends, families, or colleagues of otroverts, the best way to connect is to respect their space and authenticity. Avoid forcing them into social situations, give them time to recharge, and most importantly, show sincerity.

In a world that often rewards loudness and constant interaction, otroverts remind us that connection is strongest when built on trust and genuine understanding.

Tarlac City Job Fair 2025 set on September 27

Hopeful jobseekers in Tarlac are gearing up for new opportunities this month. On September 27, 2025, the Tarlac City Job Fair 2025 will take place at the Event Center of Robinsons Mall, San Miguel, Tarlac City, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The event aims to connect jobseekers and career shifters with employers offering various positions. Companies from multiple industries—retail, services, manufacturing, BPOs, and more—are expected to join, giving Tarlac residents a wide range of employment options.

The job fair is organized by the Provincial Government of Tarlac, the Tarlac City Government, and PESO Tarlac City, with the support of Tarlac City Mayor Hon. Susan A. Yap, Tarlac Governor Hon. Christian Yap, and Tarlac Vice Governor Hon. Estelita Aquino. Their shared vision is to open more doors of opportunity for the people of Tarlac.

Officials emphasize that job fairs are especially valuable for fresh graduates, displaced workers, and those seeking better income opportunities. Beyond on-the-spot applications, the event also allows applicants to meet employers face-to-face and learn about the skills and qualifications currently in demand in the labor market.

This year’s fair carries the theme “Jobs for Every Tarlagueño,” highlighting the local government’s commitment to uplifting families through decent and stable employment.

Participants are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their résumé, valid IDs, and other important documents to speed up the application process.

With every opportunity, the people of Tarlac move closer to a brighter and more secure future.

PH rated medium risk in political stability index

The Philippines has been rated “medium risk” in the latest Economic Crime and Geopolitics Index (ECGI), with a score of 69.2 out of 100, reflecting lingering concerns about corruption, governance, and geopolitical tensions.

The report noted that while the country is not in the “high risk” category, issues such as vote buying, weak accountability, and risks of political violence continue to challenge its stability. Regional disputes, particularly in the South China Sea, also add pressure.

In broader measures of political stability, the World Bank’s Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism index placed the Philippines at –0.57 in 2023, slightly better than –0.66 in 2022 but still below the global average.

Analysts say the rating could affect investor confidence, as businesses often consider political risk before investing. It also underscores the need for stronger reforms to fight corruption, promote transparency, and protect institutions from instability.

Despite slight improvements, the “medium risk” tag highlights that progress remains fragile. Experts stress that consistent reforms—not short-term fixes—are needed to assure both Filipinos and the international community of long-term stability.

President Marcos eats okra gifted by fire evacuee

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. shared on social media that his dinner tonight was okra, a simple but meaningful dish given to him by a young evacuee in Tondo, Manila.

“Salamat sa ulam ko ngayong gabi, Batching,” Marcos wrote, thanking the child who handed him the vegetable during his visit.

Earlier, the President went to General Vicente Lim Elementary School, where fire victims from Happy Land are temporarily staying after a blaze displaced families over the weekend.

The post, accompanied by photos of Marcos holding the okra, drew attention online for its heartfelt gesture between the child and the country’s leader.
